I get my nails done where all they speak is Vietnamese and I let them know that while I am in their salon I would appreciate it if they speak English.  They are here and they are citizens of the US not Viet Nam.  When they see me coming they put their English hats on and guess what?  I have learned a lot about their struggles, their complete appreciation for what the US did when we were there, I have in turn educated them on how the liberals and media sold them out at the end (they see the light), great recipes and a finer appreciation for each other as US citizens.  In fact the owner thanked me for my bluntness on the language thing.  I was polite but firm in my convictions about the English language request.
