"There are no easy answers' but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right.
    Ronald Reagan

I knew that when I took this action that some would not agree and I respect their choice. However I received this reply HERE to my post send out as a newsletter.  This illustrates how disrespectful, inappropriate and vitriolic some are in the political arena and why good people decide to leave politics. What is more shocking is that Alex Clark was running for GOP Youth Chair! It also high lights the importance of stepping up and doing the right thing to expose and try to stop this sort of behavior especially when it originates from those who are in or aspire to leadership positions.

Regular readers at Grassroots in Michigan are aware of an e-mail I received from Senator Rick Jones. Those who missed that post may access it HERE

This Monday, Dec. 5th I send a certified letter HERE to Senate Majority leader Randy Richardville filing a formal ethics complaint against Senator Jones for cyber bullying. This behavior is especially egregious since Senator Jones introduced an anti-cyber bullying bill HERE

I do not take this action lightly.
However, this is not a matter of Party but principle.

Regardless of Party, both Democrat and Republican elected to leadership positions have a high level of honorable responsibility to those who elected them and to the office.

This is a matter of people being able to disagree, even passionately with out fear of harassment or reprisal.

This is a matter of inappropriate conduct of an elected official and Michigan citizen's right to expect that their Senators conduct themselves in a manner befitting their office.

This is a matter of adherence to rules.

CHAPTER I - SECTION 3 LEGISLATIVE CONDUCT AND ETHICS
1.301 LEGISLATIVE CONDUCT of the Michigan Legislative Handbook & Directory states:
Each Senator shall conduct himself or herself to justify the confidence placed in him or her by the people and shall, by personal example and admonition to colleagues, maintain the integrity and responsibility of his or her office.

This is a matter of appropriate consequences for actions. And finally this is a matter of preventing similar behavior in the  future from Senator Rick Jones or any others.

If you agree, I respectfully ask you to join me in requesting that Senate Majority leader Randy Richardville enforce and honor The Senate's rules and that Senator Rick Jones receive the appropriate consequences for his actions.

I don't know if Alex had an ulterior motive with his involvement in youth politics but I can tell you that the phrase "bat shit" is a favorite by those on lefty websites. His attitude reminds me of users on those sites as well.

Regardless, I'm thankful that you're pursuing this because their intolerance is unacceptable.

    God speed!

    I just have to ask... (none / 0) (#2)

Why, of all people, would Alex Clark be on anyone's email list?  If one recalls from last January, he was rather easily ferreted out as a Big Government Newt-wit on top of being not the sharpest spork in the drawer.

Frankly, I don't know how these two candidates for the GoverNerd's obesity reduction plan shake out within the MI-GOP anymore other than perhaps listening to Rush while doing the double dutch rudder when on patrol.  Hmmm, maybe the new hostilities received stem from there?

My 2¢ .. Deep-six the rotund pretend-a-cop from the email list, and follow through with the complaint on our taxpayer funded "public servant".

It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first.

Thanks for posting this, Joan.  Keep us updated on any further developments.

what Rush, Sean and Mark have been talking about.  The RINO's in our party are trying to silence the conservative voice and our Tea Party.  They want the same old, same old, tried and true, rip off the taxpayer at any cost scheme to continue at ALL levels of government.  The fear of losing the gravy train and free perks is really getting to them.

    Don't back down Joan.

    Dec. 9 LSJ column excerpt:

"This week, Joan Fabiano, a mid-Michigan Tea Party official, fired off a complaint about Jones to Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville after the Grand Ledge Republican asked her through Facebook if she used "head meds," according to Gongwer News.

In return, Jones sent an apology letter Thursday to Fabiano. Fabiano and Jones had been communicating regarding Jones' support for health exchange legislation."

I did receive an apology from Jones, posted here http://www.rightmichigan.com/story/2011/12/12/10545/916

However the only communication I ever had with Jones is that he was on my Newsletter list, as are thousand across the state and the only time I ever heard a thing from him was about his vote on SB 693 here, http://www.scribd.com/doc/72646736/Liar-Senator-Rick-Jones-to-Tea-Party-Organizer

The only reply Jones received was via a post and my Newsletter here http://grassrootsmichigan.com/?p=1225

I have never directly e-mailed or responded to Rick Jones
