Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

    Don't forget the 1990s

    I just remembered.

In 1998 or 1999, my employer decided it would jump on the latest politically correct bandwagon.  One possibly driven by the penchant of the chief executive of the United states to drive a hummer, or get one, or umm something.  The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa & Chippewa Indians, like every other larger corporate entity across the country felt they would take no chances on the burgeoning lawsuit activities related to male-female relationships in the workplace.

    Harassment classes commenced.

Every one of the employees were paid and mandated to attend a seminar on how to handle our relations with other employees.  The hyper sensitive era was loaded by media and plaintiff attorney exploitation of casual discourse, sideways glances, and failures to hire unqualified and otherwise trouble prone employees.  All under the banner of harassment, lechery and abuse.

That would be about the same time this event would have happened:

"During Herman Cain's tenure as the head of the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s, at least two female employees complained to colleagues and senior association officials about inappropriate behavior by Cain, ultimately leaving their jobs at the trade group, multiple sources confirm to POLITICO  ...  In one case, POLITICO has seen documentation describing the allegations and showing that the restaurant association formally resolved the matter. Both women received separation packages that were in the five-figure range."

Wow, in the five figures range!

The women left the employ, and settled for what couldn't have been much more than the cost of hiring attorneys, and filing the complaint.  All in a time where many were cashing in on the newest fad of the day, an abuse of harassment policy for personal gain.

While the news cycle titillates over this new and wonderful discovery in the past life of the current polling leader, I wonder how far they will go when it is found out that the cases were settled as a matter of cost balance.  How low will the opponents of this man of character delve to create a wedge between solid conservatives and his as yet growing candidacy? As this particular set of accusations is discovered to have no substance, what next will be the cheap shot on a real conservative?

Perhaps a penchant for an extra lump of sugar in his coffee?

Like the world hasn't ever seen what a gold digger looks like.

Now, does Politico care to address Larry Sinclair or Tony Rezko?

    All hail diversity!

. . . that the timing of this story's release was to give the media elites just enough time to organize a high-tech lynching (via journ-o-list coordination) but theoretically not enough time for Cain to prepare an effective response.

    For what, you may ask.

Glad you did.  Herman Cain is scheduled to address a National Press Club luncheon today.  You can bet your bottom dollar that this will be fuel for multiple lines of questioning, all designed to throw Cain off his game.

This is how the progressives (regardless of party affiliation) work.  When they can't beat someone using rationally structured, reasonable arguments, then they'll throw as much mud as possible (praying that some of it will stick).  The more afraid they are, the quicker they go personal with their attacks.

Ann Coulter has a decent rebuttal on this; it's worth a watch.

The first actual primary hasn't even been held yet, and the coordinated smear campaign has already started.  The only thing this does for me is provide yet more evidence that Cain is the one who is best able to hand both Romney and Obama their asses on a platter.

I'd love to know who is responsible for this "shocking" revelation.  Is it dirty democrats who cannot abide by the existence of an untarnished black conservative, or is it being launched by an establishment republican campaign worried about a surging competitor?

Who said we've seen the end of bipartisanship?

    That settles that.

Oh! ...and PaulTards, take your third Party ploy and GFY.

Now, moving the Cain Train on along to the White House...

    . . . from the Washington Examiner:

Cain told van Susteren that he remembered one woman who was a writer in the Association's communications department.  "I can't even remember her name, but I do remember the formal allegation she made in terms of sexual harassment," Cain said.  "I turned it over to my general counsel and one of the ladies that worked for me, the woman in charge of human resources.  They did investigate...and it was found to be baseless."

Van Susteren asked what Cain did that led to the accusation.  There were reportedly more than one accusations in the complaint, but Cain said he recalled just one incident.  "She was in my office one day, and I made a gesture saying -- and I was standing close to her -- and I made a gesture saying you are the same height as my wife.  And I brought my hand up to my chin saying, 'My wife comes up to my chin.'"  At that point, Cain gestured with his flattened palm near his chin.  "And that was put in there [the complaint] as something that made her uncomfortable," Cain said, "something that was in the sexual harassment charge."

Cain also offered new information about the settlement of the case.  Politico, which broke the sexual harassment allegation story, said that the woman received a money settlement "in the five-figure range."  When van Susteren asked about that, Cain said, "My general counsel said this started out where she and her lawyer were demanding a huge financial settlement...I don't remember a number...But then he said because there was no basis for this, we ended up settling for what would have been a termination settlement."  When van Susteren asked how much money was involved, Cain said.  "Maybe three months' salary.  I don't remember.  It might have been two months.  I do remember my general counsel saying we didn't pay all of the money they demanded."

As for reports that a second woman also complained about his behavior, Cain said, "I am totally unaware as to any formal charges coming from this other person."  Cain said he was told the woman's name by reporters at Politico. "I have no knowledge that she made a formal complaint," Cain said.

Cain told van Susteren that the woman worked in the Restaurant Association's government affairs department, working with the group's political action committee.  He said he seldom saw her.  As to the allegation that he might have made what Politico quoted as "an unwanted sexual advance" during a trip to Chicago, Cain said, "When we were at the restaurant show, I was constantly talking with different staff members about different issues.  If I had a private conversation with her, I don't recall it."

Really?  That's what this is all about?  Talk about grasping at straws!
