Conservatives R USBy JGillman, Section News
Most should realize by now, that it was not the conservative philosophy that buried the state's manufacturers and automakers in unsustainable expenses. It wasn't constitutionalists who raise taxes so the government can buy more poverty. And it could generally be said that the "right wing" principles of responsibility and accountability are making a resurgence.
Not so sure about that? Take a look at nearly any community of 1000 or more in Michigan on the 15th of April. You will see people gathering to celebrate responsibility, and sending a message to our government that what is going on, is NOT working! What you will see is the message that conservatives have been talking about ...forever. In fact, even as the media tried to down play conservative pull back in the Republican party, more folks on both side of the fence were starting to wake up to what is truly happening around them. They looked at Detroit..
Detroit, that wonderful test specimen and greatest example of Johnson's Great Society, now beyond repair and without much hope.. or change. Even with Bing's best efforts, (and we at RM have given him credit where it has been due) Detroit is merely a shell of its former greatness. A demonstrable failure of progressive ideals.
They looked at our Military.. Armed forces second to NONE. A group of the most highly trained specialists, and saw the successes being subverted with political correctness and a failure from the top down(CIC) to understand what makes a cohesive fighting force. They looked at New York.. New York, a place too big to fail! And seeing how government considered all the banks as too important to allow to close, simply transferred our assets against the [super majority's] wishes into the pockets of the bankers. Perhaps considered temporary, but still seen as wrong. They witnessed the Automaker's taking by an over reaching federal authority.. The colossus of manufacturing, instead of natural business adjustments, forced to accept a buyout by a government that has no business owning ANY company! Wealth transferred to special interests and union friends of the politicians by stealing from the legitimate owners. Operations of these companies dictated by the president through an unholy proxy of czars and legislative capitulation. They looked at our schools.. While looking at the schools and a strange emphasis on teaching other things besides proper writing skills, math and sciences, their suspicions were aroused. The failure of the public institutions to instruct those basics enhanced by ever increasing costs due to a growing powerful union lobby. They saw the kids being cheated, and were able to compare the public costs and results to those efforts by charter schools, and wondered... Then they saw health care being addressed.. The worlds finest and most available health care being set up for shortages a decade down the road. Being set up for higher costs, forced participation, and increased bureaucracy. The kind of mess only a lunatic mind could envision. All of this has been revealed as the veil of progressive morality is lifted, and eyes are becoming more open. More folks who might have considered themselves as moderate, or permanently Democrat are beginning to join the ranks of the conservative in a fight to restore the country to its intended greatness and freedom based successes. So they joined the Tea Party Movement:
Now, comes a pair of polls, including Gallup, that paint a revealing detailed portrait of Tea Party supporters in most ways as pretty average Americans. A Sunday poll -- actually three national phone surveys of 1,000 registered voters -- found that 17% of all polled, or more than 500, called themselves "part of the Tea Party movement." "Fringe" has a new definition apparently. So on April 15th the voice of the people will be heard. And Michigan, being a sizable state, and populated with a number of former Stupak supporters is likely to have an even larger representation than the national average. But you won't have to wait till the 15th as you may get a chance to see a number of those near you in just a few days, as the Tea Party express rolls through our water wonderland with no less than nine stops in the Great Lakes State.
The Stops include: Ironwood, MI Date/Time: Thursday, April 8th at 6:30 pm

Indeed, the excesses of the progressive power grab has more than the right minded alarmed, and for a time it seems we are all becoming a little more ...conservative.
