  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    Second Class Lion Taming

The question of whether or not to 'allow' marriage to persons who identify based on their activities is absurd.

Is that not what the supreme court is being asked to validate? In the case before our Nation's highest court, the justices are being asked to determine whether California's 2008 Proposition 8 as enacted by voters is constitutional.  They are being asked to either affirm or deny the decision of United States District Court Judge Vaughn Walker,  who overturned it on August 4, 2010; his argument being a violation of both the Due Process clause, and Equal Protections clause of the 14th amendment.

A inaccurate understanding of the 14th amendment if ever there was one.

Due Process guarantees a process under which something might be taken.  It allows the imposed upon person or class to prepare a defense or answer to actions being used to deprive an individual, or group, a particular thing.  It also requires law to be sufficiently understandable or substantive.

It seems every time the good ol US of A comes up with a really great idea, it's value is seen by some as something to capitalize on, so that added regulatory measures and profit siphoning processes are added by government, tools of government, or users of government.  And certainly, when we do something in this country, it is decidedly big enough that it has its process duplicated by those who think they can compete with us, and because of the siphoning, it usually isn't too hard.

As many know, I make my living wholesaling CCTV products that come from a variety of countries, but only a few from the US.  I have a decent business relationship with overseas based firms that 30 years ago could not have been possible.  I respect the ability to import, and I support the competitive nature even in the face of purposefully devalued foreign currency and living conditions.  The opportunity for people to compete in some manner sometimes requires this, and what happened during our own industrial revolution now gives hope to even the poorest in nations that seemingly would not have ever had such happenings.

Rugged capitalism gives opportunity to those who are willing to WORK for it.

Michigan Business Done Right - Our BEST Product?

There are many items on the shelf that I like to sell.  Some because they provide good value by performing well at a fair price.  Others because they give us little trouble and return numbers are very low.  Quality makes for happy customers, and a business that provides it will see those customers regularly.

In business, customer satisfaction is proportionate to the quality of product they receive.

In our business model however, the quality of the equipment is not singularly the reason for our success.  In fact, most of our business has been driven by something even deeper and meaningful.  Anyone could sell the same parts or gadgets.  In fact, some do, and sometimes at a discount price.  Our advantage simply put, is our knowledge of the product, its use, and what we consider to be unmatched customer service.

    Sometimes the people do matter.

Japan's long history was one of tradition and honor.  The legendary samurai were the symbols of the honor and majesty of this once mighty empire.  The code of the samurai was symbolic of how the people aspired to live their lives.  They were the warrior class, the knights of their land, and the epitome of what was good in their land.  They lived lives of discipline, honor and service.
