  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    Aches and Reoccurring Payne's

Want to see how Ronulans deep-six Rep. Bentivolio's reelection?  Chem-trails.

"We'll bring in some Air Force folks right here in our district. We can have an oversight reform committee hearing right here and we'll investigate," said Bentivolio in response to an audience question. "I'd like to find out about it too."

Oh, Lord.  Please Kerry, don't play with your vegetables.  We here at RM didn't bust our asses in 2012, just to have a few PaulTards in the crowd grenade us in 2014.

But despite such embarrassing diversions the first-term Congressman, say political insiders, will be difficult to unseat in 2014 - even with last week's announcement that businessman [Foreclosure Lawyer] and Michigan Republican Party establishment favorite Dave Trott has thrown his hat into the ring. Such is the power of incumbency, and the deep pocketbooks of the GOP's insurgent Ron Paul/Libertarian wing that backs Bentiviolo.

In the redrawn CD-11, I wouldn't be so cocksure as to hang my hat on "the power of incumbency".  Not in Oakland, and Wayne County's den of vipers, anyway.

R is for Reverse... When Riding With Democrats

Feh, Laws shmaws! That's for those little people, Pay up Suckers (all tags)

Do you remember what Oakland County's "king-maker" said when pushing through the DIA Tax?  I do.

Voters in Oakland County will decide this August on a property tax to support the Detroit Institute of the Arts. Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson is encouraging residents to support it.

"So the tax would have been 19 bucks on the average home sold last year. You know, that's a bad day at Starbucks," Patterson said to laughter from the audience [Sheeple] at Friday's Pancake & Politics panel discussion.

"I think the tax will fly.  I think people understand appreciate. And then when you get, if the tax passes ... the communities that pass it get free admission to the DIA, so you're gonna get it back your first trip. So, I think it's gonna pass overwhelmingly."

M'kay, so Babbling Brooksie got his way with herding the 7 Republican turncoats on the Oakland County Board of Commissioners who voted with the unanimous Democrats to send the DIA Tax Hike and Oakland County Art Institute Authority creation (see page 387) off to a vote by the Sheeple.    Yannow, it is written that the age-old axiom says, Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.  Congratulations, Oakland County, voters!  You have spoken!  By your vote, YOU OWN THE DIA TAX.

Oakland County officials plan to take their first step next week to safeguard property taxes meant for funding the Detroit Institute of Arts from getting in the hands of the city's creditors.

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said the resolution is a pre-emptive strike against Detroit and its creditors as the city prepares to fight to persuade bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes the city is eligible for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection.

"That would be a tremendous betrayal of public trust. That's not what that tax was passed for," Patterson told The Detroit News on Tuesday. "We will take steps to suspend the tax levy. We're clearly within our rights, and we're going to exercise that."

    Read on.

Then what was the tax passed for, Brooksie?  A hint.  Would you like to know what would be a tremendous betrayal of public trust?  Still being led around by a hoary County politician who refuses to accept he has outlived his usefulness (tho, apparently now sober), and now wants his Obamacare-esque "do over" for his DIA Tax hike scheme with November 2014 elections approaching.

    Now pay up, suckers.

OABTW, next time, don't "forget" to wear your seat belts when riding with Brooksie and his Democrat friends.

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

Remember this video posted on RightMichigan.com?  Well, the results of yet another who has outlived his useful life in government rears its ugly head.

Ruben Chavez, Arthur Fisher, and Joshua DeLosSantos filed a lawsuit against Wayne County, Sheriff Benny Napoleon and deputy chiefs Dennis Richardson and Mike Jaafar of the Sheriff's Office over the June 15, 2012, incident.
The three, part of the group Bible Believers, were at the Arab festival to share their faith, according to the court document. When some festival goers grew agitated with the message, they started throwing bottles and debris.

Fearing injuries, sheriff's officials asked the group, which insisted it was on public property, to leave or risk being cited for disorderly conduct.

Chavez, Fisher and DeLosSantos claimed the order violated their constitutional rights. But in his ruling, U.S. District Court Judge Patrick Duggan said the police's actions were "designed to prevent disorder as the result of the exercise by plaintiffs of their constitutional rights. Officials interfered with plaintiffs' speech only after making an effort to impose order and only when they perceived imminence of further violence and feared, due to the sheer size of the festival and the number of attendees, that things would spiral out of control."

Attorneys said the men were demonstrating peacefully and left under threat of arrest.

Duggan also denied a request for a court order barring county authorities from restricting the three from displaying banners and signs on the public sidewalks outside this year's festival.

Tuesday's ruling "turns the First Amendment on its head," said Robert Muise, senior counsel with the American Freedom Law Center. "The police had an obligation and a duty to stop the violent response to the speech ... and certainly the Constitution forbids the government from threatening to arrest my clients for engaging in peaceful speech."

Attorney Nabih Ayad, who represented the officials named in the suit, said his clients acted reasonably given the situation.

    REST

This week is a tough decision.  I could award this week to a lawless Benny Napoleon, however, I'm confident he will have another opportunity while running for mayor of Detoilet.  I could also go with a deadbeat mooslime shyster but, deadbeat, thieving mooslimes are so common.

So, this week goes to another fossilized white dude clinging onto his power.  Congratulation, Judge Patrick J. Duggan.  For your flagrant violation of our U.S. Constitution, you are not only a dhimmi, you're also A$$hole Of The Week.

Just in case you've forgotten, there is a special primary election taking place in the old 11th Congressional District about a week from now.  According to the Official Michigan Special Primary Candidate Listing, this is going to be a non-issue for the democrats, as David Curson is unopposed.  The republican side of that ballot, however, is the entire reason for next week's special election in the first place.  And that's just what the mischief-makers on both sides are probably counting on.

The star-chamber backed candidate in the CD-11 race made some very interesting comments yesterday on OTR regarding her opponent's supporters, her opponent and a rather interesting hint at her future campaign strategy after she loses the primary and "special election".

    Talk about contrasting candidates.

I highly recommend cracking open a case of Monster Heavy Metal before watching. You'll need it way before this clip ends.

Seriously, you need notes to tell people about YOUR OWN RECORD?

Now, contrast the above to this:

No wonder Brooks and the blue-bloods are running scared.

Putting The Screws To The Taxpayers

Just so that we can continue to show Nancy Cassis a little attention here on RightMichigan, let me draw your attention to a little scheme to put taxpayers on the hook for boneheaded decisions made by their local governments, specifically with regard to labor agreements.
