  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    The Detroit News

"We know it's important for us ... to get these young people before prospective employers," Mike Finney, CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corp., said Monday at Gov. Rick Snyder's 2013 Economic Summit in Cobo Center here. "We're starting to scale that up. We've got to start facilitating the connectedness to make these things happen."

The effort, based on a pilot program that aims to connect qualified technical school graduates with open jobs, is an extension of the governor's efforts to boost job creation, lower an unemployment rate hovering around 9 percent and encourage the state's business community to take a leading role in spurring economic growth.
    ...

In an interview, the governor said economic development is about more than extending "tax credits. It's about people helping people." And the traditional system for matching the supply of talent to demand in the private sector "is broken, and it's not just broken in Michigan. It's broken nationally."

In that, the relentlessly positive Snyder sees opportunity. There's opportunity to keep graduates of Michigan's colleges and universities at home; opportunity to attract talent from other states if Michigan can develop a program to connect talent to employment; and opportunity to leverage the promise of a recovering economy.

    MORE

It's no wonder this nation is going down the drain before our very eyes.  Now the self-invented Nerd persona is using our tax dollars to fill positions at Corporations are People Too with the name your studies degree Big Ed debt slaves.  The Governerd has identified his BIG C as plain as day... growing Crony Capitalism

A citizen WITH ANY JOB is a FIRST CLASS citizen - period.

It's about damn time all these Boomer generation dregs come to grips with their precious snowflake Millennial spawn who were suckered into Big Ed aristocracy debt, that their whatever studies BS, MA, and PhD's are useless.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the only game being played is lining the pockets of university executives.  And, those campus Socialist like Mary Sue Coleman always find the time to stir the Race Card pot when the others aren't busy indoctrinating bestiality as an accepted norm.

    Or, off buttons?

PINCONNING, MI - Bullies, beware: Your victims no longer are deleting your harassing texts, Tweets and Facebook photos.

In one Bay County school district, they're learning from school administrators of a free smartphone app that allows them to take control by saving the truth.

Rest here if you can stomach it.

Yannow, the longer I see this victimhood nonsense being indoctrinated into our youth, the more I see a society undergoing a transformation much similar to the industrial revolution.  One catch though, this new revolution, I'm afraid will lead to an irreversible consequence.

    Good luck with that.

From the too good not to share section of The Detroit News.

L'Anse Creuse High School was evacuated Tuesday morning after an airman from the Selfridge Air National Guard Base went to the school, spooking staff by wearing his camouflage uniform military fatigues.

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said the 21-year-old airman, a former student, was at the school at about 6 a.m. attempting to get a letter of recommendation.

A member of the midnight-shift custodial staff spotted the man entering the school in his camouflage military fatigues, a flak jacket and a holster with no weapon in it.

    Rest

    BAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Memo to Citiots: in my parts of the state if a little camo, and at least talk of hunting, or firearms isn't the norm one is automatically deemed light in the loafers.
