  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

Well folks, I just received my first Robo-call from the Soros' Moveon.org connected K Street operative Tom Matzzie, who fronts the Accountable America shell org, which is now waging an attack on my CD-1 Representative Dan Benishek, with utter factitious propaganda.

First, a moment with Anderson Cooper exposing Barack Obama's War on Women.

Now, the Robo-call with blocked number is below.

It was barely middle morning when my power was restored, ya, those things happen in the rugged Northern lifestyle from time to time, and I really don't mind the hyperactive info world of our modern society going dormant for a spell.  The power lines that get knocked down occasionally is of no concern to me as I had the foresight to procure 14k of natural gas standby electricity for such instances, however, nine times out of ten the cable TV and internet service is taken out with the power.

Frankly, our electronically connected interweb world never sleeps, mankind must, which conflicts with required sleep and the addicted news junkie within.  The internet outage has really been a welcomed reprieve.  It freshens the soul and serves to remind me why I abandoned the city with choosing the friendlier neighborly Northern lifestyle similar to my rural Oakland County childhood.  That might be a bore to others seeking all the trappings of citified communal living arrangements of convenience, but my little Mayberry-esque plot of Gods' creation I truly do hold precious.

Well, thus far today has already been a snap return to reality only to reap the rewards of my assumption it being just the first robocall attacking my Rep. Dan Benishek, for his "promoting" what Rush says on the airwaves broadcast by a private business.  The robocall was from this unheard of by me "group" calling themselves "The Women of the 99%."  Really?  Dan is promoting any such thing?  That is one wildly outrageous accusation to make by an unidentified "group" who, by the way, is now intruding into the privacy of my home.  Hmmm... no number shows on the caller ID, and *69 only prompts the phone company's recorded message that they are unable to determine the phone number used.  No surprise there as the unrelenting onslaught of robocalls from the Romney campaign and his Restore Our Future PAC used the same tactic.

And, we're just getting warmed up, folks...

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

    Day 8 of DeleGATE

    And the cracks are widening.

More will start falling in to the opening.

The Michigan Republican party elite continue to demonstrate a lack of conscience and common sense.

Michigan GOP Chair Bobby Schostak was given a great deal of rescue line by grass roots guy Jack Hoogendyk yesterday, and instead of pulling himself out of the quicksand, he wrapped the line around his .. well, it just goes along with the "give a man enough rope" saying.

What a foolish thing to do.

Prior to Schostak pretending like the Republican grassroots give a damn about him or his supposed integrity, there WAS a solution to all of this that was not only available, but considered.  The fate of the Michigan Republican party is one of interest to me.  A suggestion made to one of the 4 who voted for the CHANGE in the rules after the fact was not rejected outright.

    MIGOP: Money or Soul?

    ~ Promoted for discussion ~

With the blessing of the current MIGOP chair, Ron Weiser, and the new Governor-elect, Rick Snyder, Bobby Schostak is poised to become our next GOP chair.

All across the state, new members have been elected to positions within the Republican Party, who came to the party through frustration with the system and the tea party movement.  They are all being massaged to support Schostak because, he, after all, raised so much money for the GOP in the last election cycle, and it is believed that is what helped put the GOP over the top.

This attitude rankles tea partiers and campaigners for conservatism, especially since, according to the Detroit News, Schostak has given personal contributions "to Democrats, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, former Vice President Al Gore and Gov. Jennifer Granholm."

The MIGOP has some work to do.  The convention in late January will most likely be as cantankerous as the last one, with the tea party factions all looking for a conservative to lead the party forward, and they will not go quietly into the night.

What I see happening is that the moderates in the party, willing to accept anything to continue what they perceive as what they did right, pushing for one of their own.

So, the GOP in Michigan has a fight on their hands, will we sit by and believe that money is the reason the GOP won?  Or is it because of the tea party that came in full force to elect conservatives, and where they failed, they will hold those that won accountable?  "Principle Over Party," was the mantra, perhaps that will be changed to "Money or Soul?"

Okay, Now They're Just Playing With Us

Cross-Posted in The Wizard of Laws

As you may know, the case for anthropogenic global warming (AGW), if there ever was one, is collapsing. Phil Jones, the director of the University of East Anglia's Climatic Research Unit, ground zero in the war on carbon emissions, put another nail in the coffin when he admitted to the BBC that there has not been any statistically significant warming since 1995.

Apparently, the fact and effect of Jones's about-face is taking some time to drift over to the AGW zealots here in the colonies. Or perhaps they're just snowed in and can't receive transmissions from the home planet.

Take, for example, Jane Lubchenco, Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NAOA). Lubchenco was asked whether she agreed with Jones that there had been no statistically significant warming since 1995. Of course, she couldn't admit it, so she fell back on the old "that's a stupid question" posture, saying that "it is inappropriate to look at any particular short period of time to discern the long-term trend."

Huh? What was that? Inappropriate to look at a short period of time? She's kidding, right?

Why Can't We All Get Along?

Now seriously folks.  Why can't we all just get along?  The debate needs to be raised up above the uproar and reproach from both sides.  We need to find a middle ground where ideology is meaningless and the only ideas that rule are compromises.

Czech President Vaclav Claus maybe the only voice of sanity left in an ever increasing collectivist wold.  In Davos, Switzerland, President Claus called global warming creator Algore out.  From Breitbart.com:

"I don't think that there is any global warming," said the 67-year-old liberal, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the European Union. "I don't see the statistical data for that."

The day after a snow and ice storm hit Washington D.C., Al Gore aka Algore aka the Goracle, was warning the senate about Global Warming.  Gore, a blithering idiot by any normal person's standards, was in front of the right audience.  In fact, the abomination that is the U.S. Senate, provided the Goracle the only forum in which he wouldn't be laughed out of the room or escorted out in a straight jacket.  In fact, it appeared that the senate was actually taking the Goracle seriously, which may explain why it is hard to take the senate seriously.
