Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

Constitution, schmonstitution. This is what I want it done, and I DON'T care how it happens!

This week during the yearly taxpayer-funded vacation to Mackinac Island, er, I mean the Detroit Regional Chamber's "comprehensive dialogue this week on innovation, collaboration and the 21st century global market" with "Michigan's top business professionals, government leaders, corporate CEOs, entrepreneurs and veteran regional champions," the topic that just won't go away; a second government bridge to Canada, made an interesting turn.

    {Continued below the fold.}

    The deal is nearly done.

And how Gov. Snyder wants to pull it off this time is a doozy!

The first part is how to pay for it?

The math is still a little fuzzy. But that has already been covered here.

Add to that you can't get the Legislature to act on it. Not enough traction?

Solution: Agree to something called an interlocal agreement between Michigan and Canada to get the ball rolling.

So what if the US Constitution specifically prohibits it. Just claim the Michigan Constitution does, and all is well in the world.

The other major hurdles are taken care of. The only sticking point now is what to use to build it with.

    According to The Detroit News:

"...just one obstacle remains to getting a new bridge across the Detroit River -- the determination of the Canadians to use cheaper Chinese steel to build the span.

Top officials of the Snyder administration, on the island for the Detroit Regional Chamber's annual policy conference, told me a deal is nearly complete to construct the long anticipated bridge without direct approval of the state Legislature, and they expect to complete the details within a few weeks.

Resolving the Chinese steel issue, they say, is the final piece."

Where to begin? Oh, where to begin?

Michigan's economy is in the tank, and you want to kowtow to a Canadian "demand" to use Chi-Comm steel because it is cheaper?

I can see the headline now:

"State Governor to US-based business: Drop Dead! My new best friends in Canada told me you cost too much."

Yeah, that'll really play well with the voters.

You already have a readily drawn, "safe" US House District that is in jeopardy due to major bungling.

You're sure that you don't want to add to that mess by handing the Michigan House over to the democrats this November by giving them this issue to run with?

. . . this idiot didn't get the message that was sent to the blueblood elites a couple of weekends back, and doesn't care that a tea-party driven recall (for violating Article 1, Section 10 of the U. S. Constitution) will find willing ad hoc allies amongst the unions that don't care what the recall language is, as long as it gets the GoverNerd on the ballot for removal.

Isn't that the term that was used by Grandmole and the SEIU to steal money from day care workers?  Sounds like more thieving to me.  We definitely need someone to primary Snyderholm.  Any suggestions as to who so we can get on the band wagon?

Friends across the river observed a messy political suicide occur.

The Governerd vs. "We The People"

I reckon that folk needed a Gov Snydholm to learn that not all CEOs are ethical.  When the folks figger that out, then they might catch on that Snydholm is doing what CEOs do: they grow things.  Gummint, all aspects of it, is no exception to that rule, and sure as hell hasn't been for Ardesta Snydholm.

Frankly, I was rather surprised that Snydholm was able to snooker as many folks as he did into voting him in as the Republican nomination in 2010.  Then again, the MI-GOP  was corrupt with 'anything with an r after its name' Leadership in allowing the Schwarz primary Democrat invitation to begin with.  Nothing much has changed within the Leadership embracing Party jumping Obamabots today.  Baghdad Bobby Schostak sucks.  Ya, the TEA folk raised their Gadsdens giving Saul Abuseus and ditzy Holly a well earned boot ride, but that was just the opening 'Third World voting' shot heard around the the state.

So.  Constitution, schmonstitution ya say?  Well, as Chuck would say, "Here's The Deal"... Oath, schmoath.

You had your One Chance, Ricky.  It proved that you are a crony capitalist Big Government advocate, hostile towards individual taxpayers, hostile towards workers with threatening to veto Right-To-Work Law, negligent on illegal aliens costing us roughly $1B a year in our state budget, and an intrusive nanny along the lines of Mayor Bloomberg.  BMI reporting and smoke free beaches?  WTF?

No, I didn't vote for the faggy tieless U of M wannabe Eurotrash slob in the 2010 primary or general election.  I sure as hell won't vote for a second term of Snydholm's brand of RINO either.  May just as well have full blown commie Democrat running the show as opposed to Party establishment Democrat-lite slow death.  That's something for the Republican legislators and the SCOMI candidates to ponder with the ongoing actions of the Republican Party flagship, Governerd.

OABTW - the Canadian bureaucrat wedge-heads can GEABOD too.
