    someone realizing what they had done:

    ...running some errands I was saddened by the lack of flags lowered to half-staff today.

    When I went into one business and asked the staff why they hadn't done so, they thought that they were breaking some law by just having a flag out in front.

    No, I'm not making that part up.

    The History Channel is going to take a break from garbage pickers, dumpster divers and the rest of what passes for "historical" programming in their channel's lineup in favor of a program on the "surprise" attack at 8:00 tonight.

    I can't even get a link to the actual show on their own website, but The News did a fairly good write-up on it in today's paper.

    Frank Backmann did an interview this morning with Prof. Gillon who also did tonight's show.

    It's worth a listen if you get the chance.
