URGENT ACTION ALERT AGAIN: Patriot Tax Up for a Hearing in Committee TOMORROW!

Don't know if you guys saw this, but it looks like the Patriot Tax Jason has been warning us about is going to go before the Senate Regulatory Reform Committee tomorrow!  Here's the link.  It is at 12:30 PM on Thursday.

I reached out to all of those Senators yesterday.  I might send them a follow up note today too just to be sure they know I was serious.  I still can't believe there are Republicans (or even Democrats for that matter, though I've grown less surprised by their antics every day) in the legislature who think it is OK to sneak in such a big pot of tax hikes into a bill that they claim is about something else.

This is bad form and bad politics.  Shame on them if they vote the wrong way.  I can't speak for everybody, but I know I'll remember on election day.

So it really is like Jason said.  Time is of the essence. I copied and pasted the contact information Jason gave us and put it below.  Remember to contact all of these guys to encourage them to do the right thing and to stand up for "mom, apple pie and liberty."  Ask them to VOTE NO on the Patriot Tax, House Bill 4293.

Isn't calling this a "Patriot Tax" being a bit melodramatic?  I'm not a supporter of the bill, but calling it a tax on our patriotism is sensationalizing the situation.

Much like what Prohibition did to address alchies, this bill will do absolutely nothing towards addressing "firework safety"

The only thing they'll really accomplish in the end is increasing the number of Michigan plates across the border in Ohio & Indiana.

    Nice job, fellas!
