...I'm not all that impressed with any of these dipsh!t's running.

    Especially this clown:

U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra of Holland said federal employee retirement should be changed to a 401(k) program. But he didn't answer a question about how much he'll get in public retirement for his 18 years in Congress.

Yep, just another career gummint trough response.

Right to work. Hoekstra said right to work legislation would cause deep division, and he would rather "focus on issues that will put Michigan people back to work."

Pete, just go away.  Your two decades of DC congresscritter thinking is not the answer for correcting a Libtard Lansing.

Mrs. Day, kudos for doing a great job keeping up informed on the candidates.

Corinthian Scales, the current field has been a little (ahem), on the "I'm-waiting-to-be-impressed" side.

I've been burned (repeatedly) in the past by candidates who've sounded great on the campaign trail, but after they are seated...well, just this when it comes to actually standing up for what they campaigned for:

    Brainslugs

Senator Brown-r(?) MA, pictured here with Speaker Pelosi, addressing his supporters after his vote on the Dodd-Frank Financial Reform Bill.

Corinthian Scales, contrary to what has been widely reported in the MSM, there are other candidates running for governor this November.

The Libertarians are running a paper candidate by the name of Ken Proctor.

The US Taxpayers Party of Michigan is fielding Stacey Mathia for governor.

And in case anyone is interested (and so that I'm not accused of showing any "bias"), the Greens will choose their candidate at the beginning of next month.

I'd really like each candidate to pick the five most important actions he would take and explain how he would implement them.

Mike Cox, for example, has 92 points. All well and good, but let's prioritize based on the old 80-20 rule of results versus effort.  We don't need 10 generalities, we need specifics... "these are the very top priorities and this is how they will be tackled."

This would provide a "means test" for each candidate by which he would be measure against:

    a. other candidates
    b. voters priorities
    c. reality

For example, "Bring new jobs to Michigan" means little without addressing the reasons that Michigan has lost jobs over two decades.  What is the one [or two] most important change that can be implemented which will positively impact jobs in Michigan?

That becomes the starting point for debate and assessment.  It can sound good, but can it be done?

    I'm so surprised (none / 0) (#4)
