    Bart's Interview..

Today Bart Stupak did a call in to WTCM in Traverse City for a Ron Jolly interview.   I imagine he will get to repeat himself many times today, but in the face of the duplicitous outward statements in the run up to the health care vote he has to some degree painted himself into a corner, and came off sounding like Tiger Woods avoiding an explanation of why he cheated on his wife.

Ultimately the truth be told, it was as he said in the August town hall, he was going to vote for this no matter what. Weren't you Mr. Stupak?

Mr. Stupak will not acknowledge the conflict of his "pro-life position" with the contradictory vote his record will carry forward. Insisting that President Bush signed an executive order banning embryonic stem cell funding by government and it carried the same weight as Obama's exec order.

"Take a look at what Bush signed.. its no different"

Actually Bart?  IT is quite a bit different.  Given that president Bush did not want the funding to exist, he signed into law to protect life as long as he was able.  He did not have the favor of a legislative act in front of him, and felt he needed to do something.  He stood up for something he believed in.  And guess what?  Your guy, Barack Obama rescinded the order upon taking office.

There is more.. below the fold.

He then chastised Senate Republicans who would not agree to his amendment in the Senate, saying:

"I could only get 45 votes in the senate to go along with it." and "the Republicans were holding it over because they didn't like the bill" (last part paraphrased)

Republicans?  Quite obviously you couldn't get the support of more of your Democrat counterparts in the Senate.  You needed NO Republicans to join you.  In fact, if any Republicans were to join you, it would have been lauded as an endorsement of the overall measure.  Bipartisan this bill would never be Mr. Stupak.  In fact They were counting on you, a man of unquestionable integrity, a man of his word who was to be honored with a "Defender of Life" award tomorrow.. except now, you are no longer qualified.

You failed life Bart.  The executive order, as Bush's was, will be ignored.  The research was in fact performed by institutions receiving federal dollars.  you cannot guarantee where there are great flows of dollars from the public coffers, the absence of money spent on certain things.  It will happen, and it will be you who has enabled it to do so. Even the current Hyde language offers a pass for certain qualifiers, and when the health care becomes expanded to new "needy" folks, you can bet the number of those instances will increase.

But Bart I want to give you some good news..  You will have a friend in the Republican party in Michigan.  Rick Snyder, (you know.. the Nerd King?) was fortunately able to get $7.5 Million from Michigan taxpayers in 2007 for the investment vehicle paying for the Mengele like experimentation in Michigan's new Bio Grinders. Offensive?  Consider from where the Stem Cells are culled:

The main clinical application of stem cells is as a source of donor cells to be used to replace cells in transplantation therapy. Stem cells can be obtained from several sources:

        * Spare embryos: stem cells can come from leftover embryos stored at fertility clinics that were not used by couples to have children.
        * Special purpose embryos: embryos are created in vitro fertilization (artificially in the lab) for the sole purpose of extracting their stem cells.  Embryos and living or dead adult tissue provide stem cells.
        * Cloned embryos: embryos are cloned in labs using somatic nuclear transfer method in order to harvest their stem cells.
        * Aborted fetuses: stem cells are taken from fetuses in early development that have been aborted.
        * Umbilical cords: this after-childbirth tissue holds potential for research.
        * Adult tissue or organs: stem cells are obtained from the tissue or organs of living adults during surgery.
        * Cadavers: isolation and survival of neural progenitor cells from human post-mortem tissues (up to 20 hours after death) has been reported and provides an additional source of human stem cells

So Bart, give him a look up.. he may have a connection for you.. you know.. for a job?

In the end, denial of the realities in this bill easily escaped the soon to be unemployed congressman from God's country.  He denied ever hearing of the additional IRS agents or the additional funding for the IRS to enforce the new rules.  He insisted there would be no death panels, and called it "crazy."  He said "Medicare is one of the most popular and efficient programs run". And reiterated the CBO as the authority deeming it cost efficient and effective, all the while blissfully ignorant of the garbage in - garbage out possibility.

How has this man held the position for nearly 2 decades?  Given the small amount heard on this morning interview, there are two possibilities.

I wont even offer what they are.

This guy is such a phony. How many bills did he vote for that included funding for Planned Parenthood? From what I have been able to learn he never voted against a bill granting federal funding for that group. How can he justify that? By saying he funded the group not their actitities? Won't wash. Stupak is a fraud from start to finish. He is no more pro-life then Wooden Head Wilson or Margret Sanger. He can no longer claim he is for life. He has never been an ardent defender of the unborn and I really don't expect him to change his spots. He is a leftist and always has been. Pro-life is not something that is equated with a Liberal Progressive. Every means at the disposal of the people needs to be used to defeat this fraud in November. He needs to go along with some of the other loonies on the left. We already know that Stupak will go along with Cap and Tax and Immigration Reform. The next two prizes on Obungles list of cherrys he wants to pluck from the Liberal tree of Opression. And old Bart will be right there to lend a hand.

I knew from day one that Bart would caved. Democrats are different from conservatives in this way: Conservatives are after a better America, so we will stand on principle against each other from time to time. Democrats are after a better democratic party - Period; everything else is a distant consideration.
