Granholm Lusts for Spotlight After GOPs Big Day

Graholm dabbles in national politics, even before fulfilling her own promises.

Showing symptoms of what could only be "Spotlight Envy" after the GOP's big day in Dearborn, Governor Jennifer Granholm decided now would be the time to "target" Congressmen Rogers and Walberg for not supporting the federal SCHIP legislation that President Bush vetoed last month.  The governor, in front of media, got some local Lansing press coverage today when she called on the Republican Congressmen to change their minds on SCHIP.

But while Granholm was busy auditioning for a cabinet spot in the Hillary Clinton White House, she must have forgot about her own campaign promises to the people of Michigan on the health care front.

The Michigan First Health Care Plan!  Ring a bell?  Well, it should because this is the plan that Granholm has promised to Michigan voters in her 2006 State of the State Address, her 2006 Re-election campaign, and her 2007 State of the State Address.  So when did Granholm say we can expect this "catch all, save all" plan?

    In April...of this year!

That's right, in the "put up or shut up" world of health care politics, Granholm has decided to do neither; once again disappointing close to one million Michigan residents who have been repeatedly promised by Granholm that "help is on the way!"

The truth remains that it isn't, which is probably why you don't hear too much from Granholm and company on the issue these days.  The plan Granholm announced by Granholm last May (http://www.ciclt.net/wmu/main.asp?PT=n_detail&Client=wmu&N_ID=200019) is a $1.1 BILLION (with a "B") plan that the feds will finance $600 million worth of.

So that leaves the state to come up with the other $500 million.  What do you think she has in mind?  Here's a hint: watch your wallet!

talking?  I bet she will try to repeal the headly act or additional service tax.  She already upset her base, she has nothing going for her.  So spotlight, here we come!

will never get a cabinet post in a democratic administration.  She has become a laughingstock among other state governors.  She has proven herself to be an ineffective leader and no administration could afford to have that combination in their cabinet.

is actually bucking for either a promotion to a federal cabinet position or appointment to the United States Supreme Court.  It's time to recall this sorry excuse of a governor from office!

That anytime our Governor targets Michigan Republican US House members she always leaves Thaddeus McCotter off the list?  I think its a basic fear that if she were to confront him, she would end up being exposed for the utter failure that she is.
