As promised, Governor Snyder will have to face the reality that the conservative base might well leave him to fend for himself as he repeatedly (and without remorse) promotes expansion of the ACA in Michigan.  Joan Fabiano and Jen Kuznicki in an article and open letter to the Governor explain that Republicans should, and will not be casting their vote for him in the coming election.

"It is with careful consideration that we decide on a course of action that is, in our view, politically problematic, but nonetheless a forthright answer to a governor who will not listen to his base: Conservatives should not help this Governor get reelected."

Many are concerned that The 2014 Democrat candidate for governor is likely to take advantage of this, and they are correct.  Thus another reason to fight for, and support the legislators who stand up for limited government intrusion into our lives; something clearly pointed out as part of the problem with the ACA by Fabiano and Kuznicki:

'Unsustainable consequences of the passing of the "Affordable" Care Act will leave millions without a job, and millions with cut hours and wages.  Those consequences lead us to believe that expansion will overwhelm the system, rip off doctors, temporarily prop up hospitals, all leading to requests for more taxpayer funding on both the State and Federal levels.

Medicaid expansion is not solely a fiscal issue, it gets to the heart of the role of government in our lives.  Take into consideration the life of a restaurant worker who has been working full time.  Due to Obamacare, he will be facing a cut in hours because of the fees placed upon his employer by the cynical law.  He will lose his health insurance as a result, and he will be eligible for Medicaid if the state expands it.  You have, at the hands of government, changed that man's life from being a hard-working climber to one that has been knocked back by a government he is in charge of.  He has lost half of his income so that the government can manage his life.'

As Lennox goes on a personal campaign to destroy Decorated Veteran Dave Agema, the credibility he carries with some folks needs to be put back in check. A little background on this guy is in order.

First off, Lennox is no dummy. He is a little queer, (Odd, but I reserve that the matching definition could be that of the reader's own thoughts) but he knows the political game better than most children his age. In fact, a little better than many who have been in the Republican party for some time, as he plays THEM so well. He is a CMU grad or some such thing, and was vice president at one time of the Young Americans for freedom, a group that was once sanctioned (and relieved by the administration)for anti-homosexual chalkings prior to a veterans support event. It was rumored the chalkings were an attempt to drum up 'news' by SOMEONE in that YAF chapter. It made national news, and attention was given. A lot of attention.

Almost as much as the fabled attacks by university officials while doing the Gary Peters video taping thing, at one point earning him a label of "mentally unstable and a potential "campus shooter" because of his aggressive, in your face tactics". Which was false, and drew the ACLU to his side, yet was likely a label he sought. It also made national media.

Lennox went to the 2008 RNC event in MN as an alternate delegate. I was there as well. On the way in during one session he happened to be walking up the same route on the outside of the security fences. Along that route, was every national leftist blogger in the US. He made it a point to stop and announce himself to quite a few of of them. to make sure THEY know who he was and gave them 'official' interviews as a Republican going in.

At that time of course, he had other things going on as well that would add to his 'national persona'.

Tyranny, broadly defined, is the use of power to dehumanize the individual and delegitimize his nature.  Political utopianism is tyranny disguised as a desirable, workable, and even paradisiacal governing ideology.

Individual sovereignty is under attack.

Not the wacko, every-man-is-a-sovereign-the-United-States-is-a-corporation kind of sovereignty, but the notion that, as individuals, we have worth and dignity that deserve protection.

This attack exists in every corner of our society and has found its way into our language.  Liberal politicians talk about the "cost" of a tax cut and ask conservatives, "How are you going to pay for that tax cut?"  They thus view tax cuts as expenditures, but expenditures of what?  Of the money to which they deem the government entitled.  

A tax cut "spends" nothing.  It is an acknowledgment that the money being taxed belongs in the first instance to the earner, not the government.  Most Americans would willingly pay taxes to support legitimate government functions, but we resist ferociously the notion that our incomes belong to the government.

Mitt Romney's election team cannot coordinate with the PAC groups that have been circulating around the state of Michigan in the last month, but it CAN be aware of where they are, what responses have been, and shifting poll data.  The shifting polls as I mentioned in a prior opinion show an RCP of +4 Obama, with a tie otherwise from a 2.9% MOE poll.  A Romney super PAC has ad buys in major markets in Michigan for the last week, and now it seems team Obama is in a panic:

".. the Obama campaign is going on Detroit broadcast TV with ads for 11/1 -- 11/6."

Now there have been visits throughout the state by Ann Romney, and they have been standing room only affairs on short notice.  $2 million is not chump change, even to these guys.  They know its not 2008, and Obama has a record to run from, as well as a funny thing going on about Benghazi. (Like WHY didn't he want to offer help to our ambassador and those with him?)

The article above notes Obama ads will be about the auto bailout and Romney's comments about a bankruptcy. Going to that well once more may not have the desired effect however, as Romney has made his case quite well about his opinion piece in the debate process.

Re-looking at the polling numbers from a week and a half ago for a comment reply brought a little optimism for Michigan.  I looked back:

There have been TP express folks rolling through the state non stop.

It is seen as winnable.  Take this polling for example.

The polling shows a less than 4% lead for the president, which is in the statistical margin of error.  YES it could be swung the other way, (error effect) but there are still more than 13% according to the poll who remain undecided.

Ask yourself this:  
If 13 percent have not already decided, which way would they sway when it comes time to vote?

A couple percent already committed to 3rd party, and may see another 1 percent from protest votes, but the majority of those will vote for the R or D.

Undecided for what reasons?
In the case of Obama, he hasn't done whats necessary to sell them on a second term.
In the case of Romney, its the devil you don't know.

Obama hasn't made the case he is a good leader or that his ideas work.  Romney as an unknown might cause a little concern, but at a decision making point, the new not yet tried will usually be chosen over the obvious failures of the old. (Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me)

13 points undecided is a MONSTER break for Mitt Romney.  Its the greatest secret this election.  Mark my words.

And then I looked forward to the poll mentioned as an "outlier":

Think about what that means.  Look at the questions asked, and the responses, and tell me you don't see an over sampling of frustrated Democrats.

There is a good chance we see something no one expected only a few months ago.  Michigan for Romney By 1 1/2 points.

Midwestern values, and a plan already presented to deal with the debt and deficit, Ryan is a pretty solid pick with little negatives for the left to pick apart.  There will be detractors of both sides, and folks like myself would have preferred an Allen West pick, but this is not an overall bad move for team Romney.

Could Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder be a vice presidential pick?

That's what one Republican political consultant is betting on in an opinion piece published Thursday naming Michigan's "one tough nerd" freshman governor as Mitt Romney's running mate.

"My bet is he's Romney's man for vice president," Chris Ingram, a Tampa Republican political consultant, wrote in an opinion piece for Tampa Bay Online.

Snyder's office said the speculation is a sign people are taking notice of changes in Michigan and focused on Michigan's progress.

Ya right, don't bust your arm patting yourself on the back, Rick.  5th worst.

"There is that perception that Michigan still has a ways to go," said J.P. Donlon, editor in chief at Chief Executive Group. "We haven't received much in the way of feedback that evidences the changes are yet significant for them at this stage."

Donlon said CEOs criticized Michigan for a strict regulatory environment that issues penalties instead of working with and helping businesses.

Actually, Snyder makes a lot of sense for Romney, especially when the Obamneycare debates start in the general election.  Snyder is the only governor pushing hard for the Health Insurance Exchange.  That should be a huge clue that the GOP heir apparent will merely tinker with retooling the ACA.  Wanna bet $10,000 on that?  LOL
