    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

So said Benjamin Franklin in response to our created nation.  No words could be more timely than today.

A state lawmaker wants Michigan to join the trend of states banning "foreign laws," but Muslim activists say the effort is a thinly veiled attack on Islam.

Rep. Dave Agema, R-Grandville, is pushing a bill to bar the implementation of foreign laws. It doesn't mention Sharia -- Islamic law -- but he acknowledged it would be prohibited in courts under the legislation intended to prevent anyone "who tries to shove any foreign law down our throats."

"No foreign law shall supersede federal laws or constitution or state laws or constitution," Agema said. "Our law is our law. I don't like foreign entities telling us what to do."

Agema said his bill would protect the "vast majority" of Muslims, whom he contended "come to this country to get away from Sharia."

But, is that really what the muhammadans want?

I honestly have not seen a more counterproductive governor leading this state since Blanchard and Granholm.  Yes, Governor Snyder is still calling for immigrants to come to this state of now extended unemployment benefits that Lansing has been paying out to illegal aliens.

Sen. Mike Kowall, R-White Lake, praised the bill for cracking down on unemployment fraud, noting a recent auditor general report that cited overpayments, uncollected penalties and millions paid to illegal aliens.

Yah, more impoverished added to the state population makes a helluva lot of sense to me.

But today, the Nerd donkey wearing elephant hide has my blood boiling.

Today's event is sponsored by nonpartisan community organizations including Muslims for a Better Michigan, the Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan and the Council of American Islamic Relations of Michigan, among others.

Snyder began his address in Arabic, saying "Asalamalakum" or "Peace be upon you," the traditional Muslim greeting, and he thanked members of the Muslim community for their contributions to Michigan society and its economy.

"You've been a great role model for that, so I say thank you," Snyder said.

Oh really, Snyder?  Thank you?  Buddy, you do not speak for me.

    Matter of fact, that is...
