Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

Some tips:

Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

We aren't going to give up because of a few milquetoast GOP types that prefer terms of surrender.

TEA PARTY AND CAMPAIGN FOR LIBERTY GRASSROOTS ACTIVISTS IN MICHIGAN HOLD FIRST COORDINATED EVENT TO GATHER TOGETHER AND GAIN MOMENTUM HEADING IN TO 2014!

Over 200 TEA Party and grassroots leaders and activists from around the state will be gathering at the Soaring Eagle Resort in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on Saturday, October 19th from 10:00a.m. to 4:00p.m..

The event, titled "Taking the Field", will include attendees and speakers from various TEA Party groups and Michigan's Campaign for Liberty.

"This will be the first coordinated statewide meeting between these two major grassroots movements. It is exciting to see two very strong parts of the grassroots coming together to network and unite on issues that both movements feel passionate about," stated Cindy Gamrat, co-organizer of the event and founder of the Plainwell Patriots.

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

Half the job is to show up.

In one of the most active off presidential election cycles in memory, there are candidates who might never have considered running for office. From incumbents facing challengers from their own party, to seats that are wide open, 2010 promises to be a highlight of this century both nationally and in our very own state races.

But chicken counting is not allowed this year.

Locally, a seat being vacated by outgoing Judge John Foresman who is retiring, leaves the door open for the five candidates who by all measures and observations have been campaigning heavily in the three county district being served. It only takes a small swing in a race like this to take someone who might seem to be the top contender and drop them to first-to-lose status or worse. Talking with several of the candidates, (one of them Kevin Elsenheimer) I have found that each realizes even the smallest of their efforts can make the greatest difference.

Nothing can be left to chance. No one should be taken for granted. And if you think you have it in the bag, think again.

Meet The People Candidate Forum Michigan Senate 37th District

This is two of the several candidates running for the Michigan Senate 37th district. Scheduling conflicts apparently keeping Democrats from attending. These two are running for the seat to be vacated by Jason Allen.

The sound could be better, and as with some of the videos taken at the event, I could not compress without losing content, so they are broken into two parts. Also I figured out how to add as a playlist. This is also the last of the series for now.
