Yesterday's post showed a more reasonable side of the OWS debate. At least from one occupier's perspective.
A little truer to the suspected ideological participation, this Kucinich supporter (a last thing he mentioned after the camera was off) might better fit the framing of what OWS is. However, each of the folks I spoke to were not unreasonable, and this particular man was a little more concerned about being careful who he talks to, probably to avoid being misrepresented. I can respect that. This event by the way, was promoted through an email blast by the local Democrat party.
I should note, there are no edits on these, except that the third video I was 'made' by some local activists who don't care for me much. I may have to split that interview into two sections. It should be ready by tomorrow. (2 comments) Comments >> By JGillman, Section Multimedia
It was a beautiful day, so I decided to take a stroll downtown with the camcorder. OWS protest event was going on, and I decided I would see if anyone felt like talking on camera.
The next video in this series (this is one of three) has a little different perspective. (10 comments) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
An accomplice (friend - coworker) of mine suggests today that the timing for the OWS is curious.
He points out the occupy efforts have been quite well organized and publicized. Not only so much more than the tea party protests, but in fact more so than the ongoing selection effort being made within the Republican party to find its flag bearer. He opines "As the conservative message is being discussed, being advocated through the debates, it is being lost in the white noise of the OWS coverage" Instant recall of the last few front page views of the local fishwrap reminds me that the volume in recent stories of our Republican possibles or their message being reported is down. Curious. Thoughts? (4 comments) Comments >> |
