    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    Good times.

Miller Praises DC Court of Appeals Ruling: "The Constitution Must be Followed"

WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Candice Miller (MI-10) today released the following statement after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit found that President Obama violated his appointment power established in the Constitution by making recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) when the U.S. Senate was not actually in recess.  Miller said:

"The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit today sent a strong message that the President is not above the ultimate law of our land, the Constitution.  Chief Judge David Sentelle said it very succinctly in the unanimous ruling, `Allowing the President to define the scope of his own appointment power would eviscerate the Constitution's separation of powers.'  Our Founding Fathers when drafting our Constitution required the President to secure the advice and consent of the Senate for certain appointments to the government for very important reasons; foremost among them to prevent the abuse of power by any President.

"The court ruled that the appointments made by President Obama to the NLRB are constitutionally invalid.  Because of this, the board no longer has a quorum and cannot conduct business unless the decision is stayed pending appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.  It also calls into question whether all of the decisions that the board has made since these unconstitutional appointments are invalid.  This abusive overreach by President Obama has now thrown the important work of the board into uncertain territory.  President Obama must respect the limits on his power enshrined in the Constitution and work appropriately with the Congress on all matters required by the Constitution to conduct the business of our nation."

Now how about the unconstitutionality of a foreign born occupant in the white house?  hahaha  just kidding..  everyone knows he was born in Connecticut, and his name is really Harry..  and he is over 100 years old.

Was just perusing the "all the views fit to distort" section of The Detroit News, and happened to come across an item that needs to be filed away in the "keep your friends close - your enemies closer" folder, with a copy of same in the "campuscrat indoctrinated are dense" folder too.

    Romney Republicans needed

I agree with Republican consultant Dennis Lennox that the Republican Party needs to purge its extremist elements to restore a much needed two-party system and help solve our country's problems ("Bring GOP back to mainstream," Nov. 8). But the reality is that such a purge might not leave many members to build from. Republicans have been purging reasonable moderates from their ranks since 1980. Does anyone see a Bill Milliken or George Romney in the Michigan Republican Party?

    Leonard Page, Cheboygan

Ya, that's the ticket.  All Hail the Squishy Democrat-lite!  Yes, Dennis, push the father of the EPA, or the father of the State Income Tax.  Pray tell, Mr. "Republican consultant," exactly how many Democrats do you wish to elect with every establishment-gamed safe Moderate that's run up the flagpole to only receive the one-fingered salute?  Winning stratagem, kid.  And another thing, exactly how stupid do you think We the People are with those on the alleged Right now using The Left's terminology?  Extremist = TEA movement.  Concerned folks aren't stupid enough to not notice this.

Good Lord!  Milliken, and Romney, are the Liberal Rockefeller Extremists of the GOP.  That's why the Republicans lose to Democrats.  Bill Milliken, was such an abject failure as governor that Jim Blanchard, actually appealed to voters as a good idea.  George Romney, instead of trimming waste from the state budget, he pushed the State Income Tax through, and the expansion of Lansing government has never stopped.  Then, George went on to be a national tool of The Left with mocking then Gov. Reagan, and aiding with the defeat of Barry Goldwater, of which, was always the goal of the Rockefeller Family.

OABTW - meet the real, Leonard Page...
