Lt. Governor John Cherry, in an effort to keep the Democrat party of Michigan wearing the title of Most devastating party ever, has called for a job killing $0.10 a bottle tax on water bottled in Michigan.
Cherry said Michigan's underground water belongs to the public. Cherry said the tax would generate $118 million, with $100 million earmarked for the Michigan Promise grants.
About 96,000 Michigan university students had expected Promise grants this school year ranging from $1,000 to $4,000.
Of course the promise grant went by the wayside as Cherry's mentor Jennifer Granholm used that money for what many see as an unnecessary new state police facility in Lansing.
