Its spring 2009 which means Election Day 2010 is practically right around the corner. This year in Michigan just about everything is up for grabs. 110 seats in the House, 38 seats in the Senate, the Governor and Lieutenant Governor, the Attorney General, the Secretary of State, two Supreme Court Justices and heaven knows what kinds of ballot initiatives will be before Michigan voters when they head to the polls next year
Primary races are already beginning to shape up and take form across the state. None will be as closely watched as the race for Governor and we'll be doing our best to bring the candidates directly to you! On March 30th Congressman Pete Hoekstra (MI-2) announced his intention to run for the state's top executive office. He and his campaign team have been fantastic and were able to put some time on the books for the Congressman to speak with everyone here at RightMichigan.com. Interview below the break... We talk so often here about the things that are going wrong in Lansing and what the tax-and-spenders are up to that I think it's important to check in with the good guys from time to time to get their take on the issues facing taxpayers and the legislature today. We rarely hear about that in the MSM. Being a member of a legislative minority makes it tough to garner headlines. But they're working hard and they're trying to make a difference. This week I spoke with Calhoun County freshman Republican Representative Jase Bolger. Interview after the break...

Late last month at the Michigan Republican Convention in Lansing, delegates from across the state elected a new MRP leadership team including a new Chairman, former Ambassador and longtime GOP activist Ron Weiser.
Chairman Weiser was kind enough to speak exclusively with RightMichigan.com to answer a few questions about his approach to the coming cycle and where the Party's focus will be in the coming year. (I'll give you a hint... it starts with the number "19" and ends with "th state Senate District.") -Aside- Should note, too, that this is the Chairman's FIRST official statewide interview... and he granted it to the Right Roots, not the same old traditional gate-keepers. That's a reflection of the weight each and every one of you carry right now... the strength of Michigan's conservative blogging community! So kudos to the whole Right Roots team.
