Whooops! Did I write Solyndra? I meant U.S. taxpayer subsidized Chevy Volt's for the ChiComs. Silly me...
Prompting the concern is the Volt's debut in China next year, and news that Chinese officials are refusing to let the Volt qualify for incentives worth nearly $20,000 per car unless GM shares some of the vehicle's key technologies.
GM has so far attempted to deflect concern over the subsidy issue, saying it believes it will work through a solution with the Chinese government.
Actually, with Volt sales figures... this may be a helluva lot cheaper on us taxpayers than building the ChiComs a NAFTA Bridge.
You sure can tell we're approaching an election year.
