  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

Devos Wins AFP Foundation 'Washington Award'

I am just starting to catch up from this weekend's big to-do in Orlando, and I thought it important to mention that one of Michigan's own was honored for doing what is THE reason for prosperity.

Building a business and creating wealth for so many.

AFP Michigan's Scott Hagerstrom wrote Saturday:

"Freedom, Family, Hope and Reward--these are the founding principles that are carved in stone in front of the Amway Headquarters in Ada, Michigan--and Rich lives them each day through his organization.

But his incredible business success is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his decades of exemplary service to our nation.

As is best when one finds success, Rich shares it with his community. With his wife, he founded the Richard and Helen DeVos Foundation, which provides grants to a myriad of excellent freedom-oriented groups like Michigan's The Mackinac Center. He works tirelessly on behalf of the National Organization on Disability. And of course, he lends his efforts to AFP Foundation.

In accepting his award this afternoon, Rich had some pithy advice for the crowd: "Do you want to get anywhere? Do something. Try something. You can never go wrong if you never do anything; but you can do it."

I think, no more than ever in this country, we need to hear those words and take them to heart."

I have never seen Greg Gutfeld like this.

Non stop laughter was a great way to wrap up the Defending The Dream Summit, and "the five's" Greg Gutfeld amidst his wisdom and candor, kept many of us in tears non stop.

AFP State operations Teresa Oelke introduces Greg first.  Enjoy.

    C'mon back meow yall.

Clarity is not a problem for this guy.

I was fortunate to be present for this speech and another I will post later at the Defending the Dream Summit in Orlando.  Bill Whittle starts and ends his speech with pop culture, and all that lays between is brilliant and insightful.

He sets the bar a worthy level.
