Well, sorta kinda... via The Detroit News
Michigan Senate Democratic Leader Gretchen Whitmer announced Wednesday she will not run for governor in 2014, citing the needs of her young daughters. What about that second chance First Gentleman option? I thought gender role-reversal is a Progressives other model of success aside from abortion. Comrade Mulhern, must be so disappointed in Whitmer's attitude regarding child units. But wait, there's more!
Whitmer has not ruled out running for attorney general in 2014 against incumbent Republican Bill Schuette, spokesman Bob McCann said. Now, where have I read that old canard before? Oh ya! It was in this David Leyton's get to back of the bus footnote on Gretchen's fading political career. Keep the humor coming, Brewer. By JGillman, Section News
How very interesting the liberal mind is. Lets start with this premise: Democrats seem to like taxes. Well at least one would HAVE to believe that is the case with all of the programs that the Socialist Democrats promote. Social program begins, money is needed, money is taken from taxpayer, Democrats proceed with next program and start process over. In true transpositive fashion, it would appear Democrats like to tax.
unless.. They have no intention of paying for those programs. And given the high number of tax cheats in the administration, it seems to follow they might not. Funny however, that THOSE guys, who are a million miles from us bumpkins in Michigan have issues that drop off the radar so quickly, while some folks here in Michigan, have lost or NEARLY LOST their homes because of such matters. Fail to pay your taxes, face a government enforced lien so that programs making sure people are able to stay safely in their homes are not ..cut. So what can we make of this? Candidate for Attorney General David Leyton is a Democrat. Not just a Democrat, but one who is running under the Democrat flag. An ACTIVE Democrat. Transpositive arrangement (A=B, B=C, so A MUST equal C) also places him as a supporter of taking people's money for the Democrats' program wishes.. right? RIGHT??!! Maybe not.. Or.. Mr. Leyton, at least a couple times in his life would loved to have taken the "Rangle Rule" to the tax man's office. Not once, not twice.. but.. Deb McIntosh, the mother of a Genesee County murder victim, tells her family's story directly to Michigan residents in a television ad released yesterday by the Michigan Republican Party.
We've talked a lot about Deb in recent weeks because her story is so senseless and tragic. Her son was murdered in 2006 and Leyton, the Democrats pick for Attorney General, lied to her family about prosecuting all three of his murderers. Now Deb is talking about the story herself.
The McIntosh family deserved better from David Leyton. Michigan families deserve better than David Leyton. The ad, "Denied Justice" will run statewide on both broadcast and cable networks.

This morning Lansing insider publication Gongwer reported that Democratic Attorney General candidate David Leyton, a former trial attorney, recently settled a malpractice lawsuit brought against him by a former client. Gongwer reports:
The settlement, filed in 2003, was the result of Mr. Leyton's representation of an automobile crash victim's family. Vanessa Beck sued Mr. Leyton after he urged her to sign a waiver that then released two of the three potential defendants in her lawsuit from liability. The waiver was part of a settlement with the driver of the vehicle that struck Ronald Beck's motorcycle, killing him. Taking a look at the actual suit and the settlement, there's more to the story than Gongwer reports. Leyton settled the suit for over $50,000 after being accused of `misrepresenting the true nature and full legal consequences' of the settlement he coaxed his clients into. Is there anyone this guy won't lie to to get a settlement? David Leyton lied to his clients as a trial lawyer and he lied to the families of murder victims as a prosecutor in Flint. Why on earth would Michigan voters believe a single word Leyton says as a candidate for Attorney General? Vanessa Beck clearly isn't the only one. Dan and Debbie McIntosh recently appeared on Flint Talk Radio and presented transcripts proving they were lied to by Leyton, the Genesee County Prosecutor, and tricked into signing off on a plea bargain for one of three of their son's killers. Leyton promised the family he would prosecute two others involved in their son's slaying if they agreed to the plea but after obtaining the McIntosh's consent later declined to bring the charges he'd promised. Jen Hoff is right- We can't trust David Leyton. (1 comment) Comments >> By Saul Anuzis, Section News
Barely a day after the Granholm administration was forced to talk publicly about the possibility of sending the National Guard into Flint to clean up Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton's streets, news broke this morning that another resident was shot multiple times overnight.
Flint residents deserve safe streets and Leyton could not be further from delivering. If David Leyton is unwilling to do his day job, prosecuting murderers, he should resign today. Let someone else do what he refuses to do--protect families and put murderers behind bars. Flint is already one of the most violent, deadliest cities in America and has had 50 homicides in the last nine months alone, prompting repeated calls from community leaders, including former state Representative Vera Rison, for the United States Army to do what Leyton has failed to do--keep residents safe. I hope everyone reading this will join me in saying a prayer that the victim gunned down this morning, apparently a man who struggled with a robber he found at his home after returning from work, does not become victim number 51 in 2010. And I hope the rest of Michigan will take today's news as a wake-up call. When the man responsible for keeping our streets safe, a city's "top cop," presides over one of the most devastating murder rates anywhere in the United States of America-- When he fails so badly at keeping murderers in jail and protecting working moms and dads in their own homes-- When the situation is so dangerous, so bleak that the citizens he is charged with keeping safe honestly believe the only situation to their daily crisis rests in the deployment of the United States Army on American soil-- That man, David Leyton, deserves a pink slip, not a job promotion. What the hell is going on in Flint?
With 50 murders this year alone, one wonders if Michiganders should even get anywhere near this war zone. And apparently NEAR is enough, is enough to get you hurt: Rison said today that she spoke to a woman in her 80s this weekend who told her about a stray bullet ending up in her home. Just shooting.. Oh, and before someone goes all crazy with a "guns are bad, m'kay" comment, let me point out the story is about calling in the Michigan Guard.. An ARMED force.. That uses GUNS.. To defend people.. People, who apparently are not armed enough to defend themselves.. Which wouldn't need to happen if law enforcement would do its job. The prosecutors office can claim that it has had it's budget cut, but deals with murderers do not exactly send a message that leads to less work for them later. more... The families of crime victims in Flint have been coming out of the woodwork lately telling one horror story after another about the treatment they received at the hands of Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton.
This week saw the launch of a new website with some pretty powerful testimonials and video footage that takes Leyton to task for his broken promises and penchant for the plea bargain in one of the most violent cities in America. Check out the new site at www.LeytonsVictims.com and you can watch some of the video below.
This is a guy whose looking for a job promotion despite "prosecuting" crimes in Flint, a city the Flint Journal just labeled a "killing field."
Fifty homicides in less than nine months, a chilling milestone for the city of Flint. Tragic.

Last Friday Bill Schuette and David Leyton met on the set of "Off the Record" with Tim Skubick for what was billed as a no-rules debate.
You can read the reports about the debate all over the internet or you can watch it for yourself at wkar.org. It turned out to be one of the wilder debates you'll ever see and actually proved to be quite informative. Most voters don't know much about David Leyton other than the fact that he's the local prosecutor in Flint, the 4th most violent city in the United States and a city where local community leaders have demanded Governor Granholm deploy the National Guard to protect the streets because of Leyton's ineffectiveness. After Friday's debate, we now know a bit more. Granted, we still don't know how Leyton voted on Michigan's medical marijuana law. He was asked directly five times and each time would only answer that "the people have spoken." But he did have a few answers liberal enough that he felt comfortable providing. According to David Leyton himself- *Leyton supports affirmative action. *Leyton supports unrestricted human embryonic stem cell research. *Leyton supports civil unions and "special benefits" for gay couples. (Those are his words.) But maybe more informative than what Leyton said directly was what he said when attempting to dodge one question in particular. Attorney General Mike Cox months ago went to court to back Arizona's common sense illegal immigration law. Skubick asked the candidates whether or not Michigan needs an Arizona style immigration law of its own. Leyton: "Michigan needs a law that's good for Michigan and that's an Attorney General who cracks down on employers who hire illegal immigrants." The answer to the illegal immigration problem, to national security and to securing Michigan's borders is to declare war on job makers and only to declare war on job makers. And that shuffling noise you hear is the sound of more job providers making their way towards Michigan's exits in case another job killing liberal like Leyton lands in Lansing.
