What a tragic development this former presidential candidate Strategic National (John Yob) is revealing himself to be. Herman first hitches his wagon to Newt Porkulus Bill Gingrich (Yob), and now he's in Michigan stumping for Pete TARP$tra's campaign ...managed by .. John Yob.
"The Tea Party conservatives have been increasingly supporting Pete Hoekstra over the years as a result of his staunch fiscal policies in Congress," Cain said in a statement to the paper. If that statement is true, it's disgusting. Cain is either ignorant about the Party power brokers in play in Michigan in general, or as I suspect, merely playing the old political payola game for other obvious agendas. Either way, no plausible excuse is acceptable anymore.
Go back home to Georgia, Herman. Look, you're still an affable and very likable man Mr. Cain, but after 18 years of Pete TARP$tra in DC .. you've got it wrong. It's more than enough of Pete. (3 comments) Comments >> By JGillman, Section Multimedia
The OTTAWA COUNTY, MI PATRIOTS ON 1-24-2012, held a debate, hosting 6 of the Republican US Senate candidates; Scotty Boman, Randy Hekman, Gary Glenn, Pete Hoekstra, Chuck Marino, and Pete Konetchy

The Mi4CS US Senate debate on the 14th was a good presentation of Michigan's US Senate candidates on a variety of issues. Though not all the candidates were able to make it, the representation was sufficient to see some contrast in how we might find a better conservative candidate to face off in the US Senate race for Michigan in 2012.
Several questions were asked, but one that stood out as an interesting contrast point, was the question on the 17th amendment. Most readers understand the 17th amendment was the point which state's rights were severely hobbled. I have supported the repeal of the 17th amendment since learning the reasons for which the founders had purposefully avoided it. Of course I was never exposed to such radical ideas in public school, so it was full blown adulthood, and fighting off the years of indoctrination which provided a sense of truth how this country was meant to be.
The Mi4CS (Michigan 4 Conservative Senate) vetting questionnaire asked: "Do you believe the Framers were in error in providing for the election of Senators by the State Legislatures and if so do you believe the 17th Amendment, (ratified during the Wilson administration), is the proper solution. Would you introduce/support a repeal of the 17th Amendment?" The 5 participating candidates had an interesting array of answers. While I would vote for ANY of these distinguished gentlemen over the meat puppet Debbie Stabenow, I was not enthusiastic about a couple of views. I WAS intrigued by the thought process which went into each however. Well done. The five below the fold ~ (8 comments, 2868 words in story) Full Story By JGillman, Section News
Another round (a little out of order) from the Traverse City Debate sponsored by the Grand Traverse Republican Party.
The Social Security Question.
Interesting responses. However, When one looks at the bigger picture of this Ponzi scheme, it seems that some further out of the box answers may be necessary. Opting out perhaps? I wonder what Pete Hoekstra or Clark Durant would say? Shame they didn't show up for this GOP sponsored event. Enjoy. Another video will be available later. By JGillman, Section Multimedia
This second round has the candidates explaining how they would deal with what is one of the most egregious anti-constitutional laws put on the books in our nation's history.
What about Obama care? What should we do about it? As we look to the possible results of next year's elections, the Senate will be playing an important part in how this is handled going forward. If the SCOTUS says it stands with an expected ruling in April of 2012, it will be especially important to have Senators who are principled enough to destroy it from within the body of its creation. It was too bad that candidates Hoekstra and Durant "couldn't attend" this debate, as it would have allowed us to see how committed they are in reversing the trend of big government mandates and encroachment on our rights. Perhaps for Pete, and his record, its best to stay "mysterious" so that some are easily fooled into thinking he might actually carry sufficient principle into this fight when its time. As For Clark, I don't know him well enough yet. Maybe a video response by either of them would be a sufficient way to answer? Gentlemen, its an opportunity if there ever was one. As promised, here is round one of the Grand Traverse Republican Senate Debate in Traverse City, Michigan.
Less Government, more individual responsibility, and with God's help a better world. Do you have a problem with that as a Senate principle to follow? Each of the participants had 2 minutes each to answer.
In the morning I should have the remainder of the questions available. By JGillman, Section Multimedia
The Grand Traverse County GOP last night held a debate/forum at the governmental center in Traverse City, inviting all of the candidates for US senate to help us determine who might be best to occupy the seat now held by leftist Sen Debbie Stabenow.
Five conservative candidates vying for the Republican nomination felt its was worth their time to speak on matters of national importance, policy and principle. Scotty Boman, Gary Glenn, Randy Hekman, Peter Konetchy, and Chuck Marino attended the affair, with Pete Hoekstra, and Clark Durant conspicuously absent. This particular clip is an introduction by the moderator, and a follow up self intro by the candidates. I will be processing the video for each question separately and will post here as they are finished. (1 comment) Comments >> By Kevin Rex Heine, Section News
As I have written before, most of the organizations comprising the Michigan Tea Party Patriot Network are structured as 527 groups. This means that they're not allowed to directly advocate the election or defeat of any candidate for elective office, only to operate on behalf of issue advocacy and voter mobilization. However, the tea party networks in several states (including in Michigan) voluntarily operate in strategic partnership with an organization set up specifically as a Political Action Committee. This organization concerns itself with candidate screening, endorsement, and advocacy, with a specific focus on constitutional loyalty and grassroots activism, and on integrity over money.
The Independence Caucus is not a political party, nor is it affiliated with any political party. It is, rather, a group of concerned citizens devoted to electing candidates truly committed to constitutional loyalty and fiscal responsibility, regardless of party. The goal is the election of such candidates to not less than 40% of the available seats in the several state legislatures and both chambers of Congress . . . in each election year. It is a not-for-profit organization of concerned citizens from all walks who recognize the responsibility to act now to protect future generations of this nation from the disastrous consequences of our systematic abrogation of constitutional principles, exists to teach us how to govern our country as citizens, and provides the practical tools and resources to actually make it happen.
