Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

    SHALL NOT Be Infringed

    in·fringe
    [in-frinj]
    verb
    1.  to commit a breach or infraction of; violate or transgress: to infringe a copyright; to infringe a rule.

Rules are made to be infringed upon, right?

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder might not have signed on the dotted line for SB59, but it is likely it will come up again, and perhaps with some minor changes.  We can recognize the knee-jerk reactionary attitude towards firearms under the circumstances, and though it has affected good policy in our state, and perhaps the reaction does not seem logical, Michigan's situation can still be fixed. Snyder's veto was merely a reflex test result with a little jerk. Not surprisingly, NY state has a wholly different result with the knee breaking backward to smack the face.

New York's Lawmakers drive home yet another reason to .. not. live. there.

Ignoring 83,000 babies killed in NYC alone in 2010, (nearest statistics I could find) arch leftist gun grabbers in NY State wasted no time in enacting a gun grab and (of course) a money grab scheme allegedly based on the deaths of the children in Newtown.

"Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo signed into law a sweeping package of gun-control measures on Tuesday, significantly expanding a ban on assault weapons and making New York the first state to change its laws in response to the mass shooting at a Connecticut elementary school."
The speed in which such things are passed must make one think that the shelves are full of devised infringements.

    Continued below the fold

Lest one thinks its all about the guns, one might be reminded that NY state, and NYC in particular have one thing they like more than gun control:
"The application fee for a handgun license is $340.00. Effective March 9, 2012, the fee for fingerprints is $91.50. These fees may be paid by credit card or with money orders when you submit your application. Money orders should be made payable to the "New York City Police Department." .. "
    Money.

Aside from reducing the number of rounds you are supposed to carry in a clip to 7, (which will obviously save lives)they are essentially banning internet sales of ammo through a sales-through-local-dealer-mandated design, as well as a requirement that guns are re-registered every five years. (thus a tax increase of $340 per gun per five years in NYC alone) A tax scheme, and the aspirations for the presidency by a Governor who 'gets it' less than some 'others'.

And in Michigan, all of a sudden, a temporary setback in allowing our educators to defend themselves doesn't seem so bad.

RKBA and what Snyder wants (none / 0) (#1)

He wanted/wants is a public property "opt out" read - Gun Free Zone.  AND the maintaining of the list of registered firearms.

Seen, and read too much history on that Progressive game Snyder plays to know that when Snyder leaves office the door remains open for others opportunity to infringe further.  History shows us repeatedly what happens in other nations... 1) Registration, 2) Confiscation, 3) Extermination.

And in Michigan, all of a sudden, a temporary setback in allowing our educators to defend themselves doesn't seem so bad.

    Bullsh!t.

Time would be better spent with recruiting a primary challenger for the Nerd instead of making more excuses for him.

If Snyder decides to run for reelection, he will not receive my vote.

    The New York Gun Law (5.00 / 1) (#3)

This is now "progress."  These are "progressives."  Remember this day.  First they limit the number of bullets.  Then they will tax the bullets 100%, 200%, 1000%.  Then they will require a permit to purchase ammunition.  Then they will make ammunition illegal.  But you will be able to keep your gun... as a memento of when you could actually bear arms.

Michigan may be union liberal, but it is not gun progressive.  The governor needs to understand the difference.
