    Just Ain't Enough Wind

Even with the most outspoken Lansing politicos and union bosses flapping their yaps 24/7, Michigan clearly does not have what it takes to be 25x25.

The wind tunnel effect of prop 2 and 4 puffery by labor leaders smelling the money of forced union membership might  seem to be enough to be filling the sails of prop 3, but alas, no amount of hot air, deep sighs or physical reality matches the required blow to make it happen.  Prop 3 is a non starter from the physics sense alone:

"That's because almost the entire state of Michigan is "poor" or "marginal" for wind as a resource at 50 meters above ground (see image), according to the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory. The information says Michigan's best wind opportunities at 50 meters, which would be classified as "excellent" and "outstanding," are all located offshore.

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory says annual wind speeds of about 6.5 meters per second at 80 meters or higher are "generally considered to have a resource suitable for wind development."  "

But this doesn't matter to 25x25 proponents.

    Its not the point.

The use of energy and accompanying pollution that must surely be generated by coal fired and natural gas generation must surely be stopped.  Certainly, if we do that, then wind and solar technology by necessity will have to be improved or we all starve, lose our modern conveniences and health maintenance devices. (you know refrigeration, medical apparatus etc..) If only we would understand "necessity is the mother of invention", damn it!

And in the meantime a little equalization wouldn't hurt the dying planet too.

    Continued below

There are things going on that folks do not understand.  Not because they don't want to.  Not because they are not smart enough. It has more to do with a well managed creep of guilt into our collective conscience.  Guilt which is designed to have us focused on inequity, while others use our focus to build on their power base. As pointed out before:
The 25x25 number is no coincidence.  In fact even proponents would likely direct those who are curious to 25x25.org, to get their curiosity sated.   What is barely discernible from the outward front of the site is its United Nations Related ownership. (note the contact email for the connection)  The UN of course, has been steadily promoting its globalization platform to equalize all the population into an equal state of misery with its Agenda 21.
As an aside, it might be that mothers, are in fact the "mothers of [THIS particular] invention."

What greater example could be used to demonstrate a way of convincing we the people to go against our self interests?  The use of guilt, that built in moral compass that once served mom well in keeping us alive, (and frankly from getting the belt at the end of the day,) to guide our adult decision making in a way that confounds common sense.  The twisting of our emotional connections with other humans has never been so profoundly used as it is with those who demand equality in outcomes, over an absolutely moral equality of opportunity. The "I feel bad they have to live in such a hell hole" mentality separated from knowledge of WHY they are in it.

And that knowledge replaced by nonsense that Americans are the perpetrators who by virtue of our excess have victimized whole nations. Even the recent film 2016, notes that our elected leadership represents fully this dream-state induced conflict in reasoning skills that barely raises us a shallow step above the primates.  Damn our advances in technology that allow us to rise above poverty and despair anyhow! Its NOT fair!

    Its. Just. Not. Fair.

    Right?

    ...

Once upon a time we were given a gift from God that fills a void where the wind would blow from ear to ear on its way to propellers and turbines.

    Its time we use it.

...  the "renewable" energy crowd always seem to shy away from.

First off, their numbers don't mesh very well with reality.

According to Michigan Energy, Michigan Jobs:

"If Michigan's manufacturing talent, know-how and capacity were factored in, the number of jobs could reach 94,000."

But according to the American Wind Energy Association, there are only 85,000 people employed NATIONWIDE right now.

Second, Michigan is known for cold weather.

What the "renewable" energy crowd hates to admit is that wind energy doesn't work very well in cold weather (like not at all).

Kinda hard to generate any power, when the tower and blades are caked in ice following a severe winter storm.

On top of that, anyone want to guess what will happen to people or property after a huge chunk of ice breaks off of the blades or pylon and goes crashing several hundred feet towards the ground?
