    But being outside during the winter (and at one time crazy enough to go out during more storms than I can count) I've seen significant ice build up very quickly on vehicles going nowhere near highway speeds.

    Contrary to what you may have seen on The History Channel, cold weather does play hell on just about every system on a truck.

    I'd be surprised if something similar didn't hold true for a something several hundred feet in the air, parked in the middle of a lake, and not generating any heat.
