iCaucus Election Alert (and Recommendation)By Kevin Rex Heine, Section News
You may remember me mentioning the Independence Caucus of Michigan in the context of the 2010 Michigan Secretary of State Republican Primary or this year's republican U. S. Senate primary. However, a couple of days ago I received an e-mail from a key member of the organization's leadership that indicated that they'd be getting involved in one of this year's convention races.
You may remember that the normal iCaucus vetting window runs around four to six weeks. So, for the May 19th MIGOP State Convention that's not going to be enough lead time. However, the statewide iCaucus leadership did want to weigh in on the National Committeeman race, especially given that a previous endorsee is one of the participants in it. So, since an actual endorsement isn't going to be possible, statewide leadership apparently got together and decided on a non-binding recommendation instead:
For immediate release to all Michigan iCaucus affiliate groups... This is now somewhere in the immediate vicinity of a dozen and a half tea party or related groups that I'm aware of that have jumped behind Dave Agema as groups (as opposed to endorsements by individuals).
