    Breaking!! SEIU Scam Nearly Over!

Don't ever let a liberal tell you he or she gives two whits about the truly needy.

Michigan has been fighting a battle that should never have been fought.  It is nearly over now, and after nearly $30,000,000 has been taken from the pockets of those who could least afford the theft, the Senate leader has relented and allowed the vote, and subsequent passage of SB1018. Because the house version of the bill HB 4003 is so similar, it should be expected to reach the governor's desk nearly immediately.

The scam came as a result of an inter-local agreement arranged by the former governor's office, and the hokey work around in defining employment based on contract labor.  Unions, and their willing accomplices in state government ceded the rights of the independent contractors who provide care services to a previously unknown place as employees of the state.  This allowed for the vote establishing a union to represent the new "employees" and begin withdrawing dues from their contract payments.  Child care workers, and home health workers were all affected if they received payment for their services from the state of Michigan.

Nearly all of them had no idea what was going on until the money was being held back.

In January of 2011, Maura Corrigan, former Michigan Supreme Court Justice, and the newly installed DHS director, rightly declared the child care workers were NOT employees of the state, ending their nightmare, but the Director of the Department of Community Health Olga Dazzo had no such plans.  This required further legislative action to clarify the status of the contractors.

    More below ~

Folks, I have to tell you, i have seen dirty tricks in my day, but this one took the cake.

I am not a big fan of general welfare, food stamps subsistence, etc, but the reality of the home health worker is another side many folks do not really understand. There are ways to do things, and there are SMART ways to do things.

As most on here would agree, the truly needy are going to get our help with little argument.  If one is truly unable to provide, one way or another we as a society WILL provide support.  Often times, the providers are family members who are able to provide for their loved ones only by giving up other opportunities.  The pittance they receive from the state to provide the alternative to higher cost institutionalized care is usually barely enough to make ends meet.

It makes sense to keep the infirm in familial homes, in a place of trust, and at a lower cost to the taxpayer, than behind steel mesh windows, and hospital settings and at greater risk of abuse from those who have no personal investment.  We have decided we will take care of our truly needful, and doing it in an affordable and dignified manner makes sense.

But leave it to the Democrats, and their union supporters to find a way to steal from those who can least afford it.

The passage of SB1018 is a rebuke of the left's cold hearted attack on those who are the most deserving of our assistance.

Thank you Michigan Senators for that, and in advance to the house for rapidly reconciling it with HB4003

For the Goonions. First the nerd denies them the rioht to have the school districts take their protection money from their victims and now this. Gotta love it. When the Goonion thugs lose it is a victory for the American people.

"Don't ever let a liberal tell you he or she gives two whits about the truly needy."

You may disagree with the way they try to go about it, but I know plenty of liberals who care about the truly needy... there's no need to get nasty and start making untrue stereotypes.

    I wouldn't go popping that champagne just yet. (none / 0) (#3)

Yes, it passed the Michigan Senate.

Yes, the House Bill is very similar.

It still needs to get signed in the end by the guv.

Now before anyone gets too giddy with excitement at that occurring, did anyone catch this from Commissar Dazzo's bio:

"She brings to the MDCH a record of building innovative, fact-driven programs that create positive change for people, health care providers and communities."

It reads like something that Snyder had written himself.

Remember what I said earlier about knowing where people stand by whom they surround themselves with?

The fact this woman wasn't taken to the woodshed by now over her actions that made these bills even necessary in the first place should be a red flag on how the guv will act.

Another "I don't want to see that on my desk"-moment, anyone?

They are out for the little guy the part they always leave unsaid is they are out to get him. The truth is the self-styled elites on the left hate and despise the middle class in this country. We are a threat to them. We are in a position to actually "make it" and that cannot be allowed to happen. A bunch of the unwashed as Pelosi calls us actually breaking into the elite class. No that will never do. That is why you see regulation used as road blocks to progress and success. Who would have thought that it would ever be easier to start a business in Communist China (2 days) then it is in the good old USA,land of the free and home of the brave. That should read the land where nothing is free unless you are a lefty 31 year old college student activist plant and if you are brave they intend to put the boot of government on the back of your neck. Liberals are nothing more then modern day Marxists and Stalinists. Watch the way they fawn over those with near absolute power. How many members of the Democrat elite along with the Hollywood types are apologists for Castro, Chavez and Stalin? Take for example the way Zero laments having to deal with Congress and how pesky that damned Constitution is. Now tell me again how the Liberals care. They care about absolute power being put into their hands by the useful idiots that actually think they care about them and this country. WAKE UP.
