Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

And By The Way, Lansing Rally Tomorrow.

I don't think I am the only one to greet Mitt Romney's announcement that he will be seeking the presidency with a total yawn. Neither exciting nor a practical change agent, Romney represents ALL that is wrong with moderate Republicanism.

Perhaps I could sum it up in one word: "Romneycare"

Add to this, he has already misjudged 60% of the primary electorate by coming out of the gate saying he believes Obama is a legit president, or at least that he is a citizen.

"I think the citizenship test has been passed. I believe the president was born in the United States. There are real reasons to get this guy out of office ..."

First off, count me as somewhat of a birther.  Or at least as one who believes like that crazy-like-a-fox Trump, that Obama has some issues tied with the birth record he has spent gawd-awful amounts of money hiding. Not a good enough reason on its face? I mean seriously Mitt, 60% of people who voted with the Republicans think he wasn't born here.  And as to the citizenship test, which one was that? Are you simply trying to not be skewered by the media that you expect to put you in as a McCain type who was easily controlled for 2012?

Controllable and easily manipulated.  What a weasel.  If he wins the primary, we will have another term of the worst president ever, because people will again sit on their hands.  He would probably sell us out like Bush did when the bank situation arose anyhow.  No principle whatsoever.  No personal constitution.

This time we need to take a real look at the 'posers' like Romney, Gingrich, and even Huckabee who wouldn't do what needs to be done.  Talk a great talk, but look at their records.  At least Huckabee would be likely to look at a Fair Tax.  I could vote for him.  Even with him saying Obama grew up in Kenya, when we all know his childhood was spent in Indonesia.

Problem with that?  See the "57 states" comment by the guy who is our current white house occupant.  Actually, Kindergarten is where we learn how many states there are.  Some of us actually might have learned about how Puerto Rico and Guam fit into the scheme too.  But the dweller of 1600 Pennsylvania avenue never picked that up apparently.

And that occupant has a lot of questions that have yet to be answered. ~ more below ~

And Donald Trump is asking them.

Trump has hit the right buttons, and is making 'the WON' nervous. His unapologetic approach to the birth question is worthy of respect.  The MSM is desperately trying to paint him as a lunatic and diminish his effect.  However, they are finding it hard to suppress his words, for as soon as they try, it becomes an accelerator pedal for the debate.  Its harder to hush a billionaire than a few broke attorneys, and a decorated officer who have questions worth answering.

But Trump is a scoundrel and rent seeker.

Years ago, when building his empire of casinos, Trump would use eminent domain to assist in his efforts.  Using the horse hockey 'public good' argument his actions meant you weren't safe in your own possessions.

Donald Trump conspired with Atlantic City officials to level a block of family businesses so that he would have more room next to his casino for a parking lot. Just as the ballpark developers did in San Diego, Trump turned to unscrupulous city officials to gain by force what he could not get by private negotiation

Frankly I am enjoying Trump's appearances and his asking of questions that need answering, because there has not been a test as Romney might imply.

The old adage "Trust But Verify" really needed to be inserted in 2008, yet our as usual sycophant lapdogs in the popular media failed to do what they would have fallen over on themselves to do to a Sarah Palin, or Michelle Bachman.

And speaking of those two? Yeah, I would vote for them.  They at least assert their politically unsettling questions.  Palin was right with her 'death panel' analysis, and Bachman called out the $105 Billion in Obamacare funding the House passed anyhow.

We keep being told they aren't able to do it, that they could not win.

Consider the source of such statements before passing it along as fact. And frankly how much clown paint does the media have to paint on the photos, cartoons, and imagery surrounding these heroes of the Tea Party types that are truly making a difference before your own judgment is swayed?

Brainwashing has been going on for some time.  Open up the synapses and do some critical thinking.  Naysayers would point to minor gaffs that are hardly as meaningful as Obama's misunderstanding of our nation's construct to detract from their message.  A regular barrage of ridicule is quite effective a tool in the art of media manipulation of our opinions.

I just want the truth.  We have not been given the truth for years.  At least not willingly, and now we have to self discover because our watchdogs have failed us.

Before I quit for the day here, I wanted to point out that another candidate for president will be in Michigan, and I find him to be refreshing, and able to call it as he sees it.

Herman Cain is one of my picks for the nation's top job.

He will be the keynote speaker in Lansing at the capitol.  Events surrounding this rally will be happening all morning and later in the afternoon, but Cain will speak somewhere around noon.

Writer, Speaker, Presidential contender and conservative businessman Herman Cain is scheduled to speak as keynote for a rally and other events sponsored by the Michigan Americans For Prosperity. The one time CEO of Godfather's pizza is coming to Michigan April 14 to talk to Michiganders at the State Capitol at noon.  Other speakers include Dick Morris, Attorney General Bill Schuette, Secretary of State Ruth Johnson, Rev. Levon Yuille, and Justice Bob Young

I will be down there taking video, and supporting the efforts of the right roots.

    12 Noon

Keep an eye out, I hope to see you there.

    Rally today (none / 0) (#1)

Just saw a comment on the Lansing State Journal that the bars in downtown are all full.  Gotta love the union rallies - especially the auto workers - had to get their alcohol fix in the middle of their protest.  Not much different from being on the job.

    " Palin .... Bachman ....
We keep being told they aren't able to do it, that they could not win."

I remember the same thing being said in 1980, about a crazy right wing ex-governor named Reagan.

Tea Party can do better than Trump (none / 0) (#4)

This crotchety old fart has no problem with Bachman or Palin.  I'm so sick and tired of milquetoast republicans like Romney, Boehner and Kantor that I might hurl as I type this.  Let's be honest, if you needed someone with some nuts to challenge an opponent, who would you rather have on your side?  Bachman or Boughner?

Trump?  I think he will serve a valuable purpose in that he will illustrate to estrogen laden Republicans how they must fight the political battles of today. Beyond that I'm more than skeptical to the point that I don't think I'd vote for him.  (I'm tired of party loyalty, I'm ready for some purity!)

If I needed someone to represent me in a no-contact padded lilac scented gazebo cage match, John Boughner might be my stud. I mean, seriously, he'd rip a silken butterfly to shreads!  But, in anything more than a dispute involving an overcharge at some fine and florally scented habidashery, I think Palin or Bachman would kick Boughner's butt, and I'm guessing their mascara would run less that John's too.

Now, as for Herman Cain...this guy is the real deal.  2012 might be the last chance the conservatives have in ever saving this country, and I'm not willing to cast my lot with The Donald even if he does have some seriously cool hair. Right now, for me at least, Cain is in the lead.

Sorry for rambling---I'm in Georgia this week, have intermittent internet, and am giddy from a Red Wings win in the playoffs.  Count yourself lucky that I'm not a drinker.
