Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

    Where to start...

One could generate electricity if they could tap into the activity swirling around between the ears of one particular county commission winner this morning.  I have been thinking on the races around the state that were affected by something I have warned about.

    Across the state:

    • 1,043,619 Gubernatorial votes were cast in the Republican gubernatorial  primary.
    • 524,785 votes were cast in the Democrat gubernatorial primary.

Let that sink in.. Isn't this a "blue state?"

Ignore the smoke coming from my ears.. it may set off the alarms, but maybe after I cool down, I can analyze a bit more accurately.

--- UPDATE --- In 2002 with a non incumbent running open seat...

    • 583,385 Gubernatorial votes were cast in the Republican gubernatorial  primary.
    • 1,046,673 votes were cast in the Democrat gubernatorial primary.

Definitely a very sad day for Michigan Republicans and for the state of Michigan itself.

This suggests the UAW.. (none / 0) (#2)

... just needed to goad enough of its members into voting to put Michigan's Pol Pot over the top for the Dems.
The only good news seems to have been Cox coming in third (better than he deserved).

    Hoekstra was right.... (none / 0) (#4)

This is partially Right to Life's fault for only endorsing Cox. It was big gamble on their part and now that have the two worst pro-life candidates possible running in November. \

There are unfortunately too many uneducated single-issue voters out there that wait for RTL to make their endorsement and vote solely for them.

It was a stupid decision on their part and now the state will suffer greatly.

We also ran too many conservatives. If just Cox/Hoekstra/Bouchard ran... I think he would have beaten Snyder.

Any of the bunch can ask 4 my vote and (none / 0) (#5)

ask some more, this whole mess is so freaking unforgivable, my answer will be "Hell to the no!!!"

Not one, NOT ONE of them did the right thing...unbelievable! How's the selfish, hardball thingy workin' out for you guys?

Further, it's lying to say that one will look out for my interests and the interests of MI yet allow this. Ewww, I might have to take another shower.

Snyder needs to reach out... (none / 0) (#9)

... to the state's conservatives, and pronto.  Going with an election theme of "vote for me - at least I'm not a pro-abortion socialist nutcase" might get him a few of the middle, but he has to gain support from Michigan's conservatives to have any hope in November.
OK Rick... start by letting us know that some of your people are at least reading RightMichigan.

Jason on your win.  It is a start in the right direction and I was also glad to see Greg McMaster won his primary.

As for the governor primary - I am completely and totally disgusted.  It is a travesty that we end up with the Nerd - it is like having McCain running all over again.

This might be enough to make me apolitical. If Cox, Hoekstra or Bouchard don't care about conservatism -- especially when Michigan needs it the most -- why should I?

    Glaring proof. (none / 0) (#16)

That the Republican Party must STOP accepting the open primary system and instead opt for the closed primary. Keeps the riff raff out and keeps the shinanigans to a minimum. That the Party elites are probably more then tickled this morning. They now have a candidate for Governor that is basically equal to their perfect Presidential candiate. Synder is Michigan version of McCain. Even if he wins we are still sunk as he will follow a Progressive Liberal agenda. So it really doesn't matter which one wins we are screwed no matter what.
Guess I will not bother to vote in the general this year. No sense. Nothing to vote for. The darkness that envelopes this state will continue for another four years. To say that I am disappointed in the voters is a huge understatement. Guess I better get my name on the list for a moving van. Heard they are getting hard to get.

    Mr. Gillman:

Congratulations on your victory in Grand Traverse...I used to live there so I keep tabs on things there. No, I'm NOT the former governor, people...Mr. Gillman knows me, though ;)

    Cheers. Best of luck.

    The twit FAILED.

Cheboygan County Drain Commissioner Dennis Lennox, from Topinabee, conceded his loss two hours after the polls closed in a statement thanking his supporters.

"This scrimmage will have served the winner well in his quest to serve the people of Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan and Otsego counties," Lennox said.

Lennox received 7 percent of the ballots cast, with a total of 1,150 votes.

It took Lennox till 10pm to figure out his 7% doesn't beat nor come close to MacMaster's 30% of the vote?  BWAAHAHAHAHAHA!

    What a tool.

Buh-bye  "Center-right" Con-con promoting opportunistic creep. (just had to use it your descriptive phase rdww)

Oh!  Don't remember Lennox's 'Live from Oslo, Norway' center-right ramblings video on here at rightmichigan.com?  Howza 'bout his 'Fixing Lansing' video on here?  Yep, at roughly the same time he yanked them over here and here, everything, not just Lennox's postings, coincidentally disappeared here too.

Hmmmm.   Centrists that stick together lose together.

    Go figure.

Actually, it's a funny inside joke for those that know me...when I lived in TC I routinely got calls for the former governor. In one instance, I argued with a woman on the phone when she insisted I WAS the governor. I told her "hey, would the former governor be drinking orange pop and eating Doritos while sitting on garage-sale furniture?" (Fortunately, my life has improved since that time...but I digress). Another time someone wanted me to invest in natural gas. Another time an insurance company wanted to know how my hernia operation went.

Another time I got a hate package in the mail addressed to Bill's wife (abortion issue). So, I'm with ya: my name IS spelled differnt--but that hasn't stopped people from mistaking me for "the man" before! :)
