Great Failures In The Great Lakes State

While the White House will try to paint a rosy scenario in Michigan, President Obama needs to be reminded of his great failure in The Great Lakes State

President Obama will be making the Administration's second trip to Michigan in a month to tour a battery plant in Holland.  Undoubtedly, the President will try and chalk up the groundbreaking of the LG Chem factory in Holland to his $862 billion stimulus, but people across Michigan don't need to look much further than the unemployment lines to see that the stimulus has failed miserably.

A three hour taxpayer funded visit to Michigan won't reverse the job-killing policies that the Obama Administration has forced through Congress against the will of the American people.  What was the Democrat response to an outcry of disapproval from voters in town-hall meetings across the country? First, instruct vulnerable incumbents up for reelection to avoid "confrontations with constituents," and second, engage in a full-scale public relations campaign to try to repackage their same failed policies.

As President Obama continues his out of touch public relations tour, it's important to remember that Michigan's unemployment rate continues to be the 2nd worst in the nation, hovering around 13.6%.  That's 69,400 Michigan residents who have lost their jobs since the stimulus passed.

This week, Michiganders will witness first-hand an administration that is losing credibility on the economy and hoping to fill the void of job loss with a series of press availabilities and photo ops.  President Obama can visit every battery factory in the nation, but in order to recharge our economy America needs a robust private sector free from high taxes and economic uncertainty.

So while the White House will try to paint a rosy scenario in Michigan, President Obama needs to be reminded of his great failure in The Great Lakes State.  Michiganders aren't going to be fooled by more empty rhetoric and pre-packaged photo-ops.

What Jennifer Granholm did to Michigan (none / 0) (#1)

The Obama Administration is "sharing" with the nation.  People across the country are finding out what it means to be "blown away."

But it doesn't make anything better here to see it going on elsewhere.

"America needs a robust private sector free from high taxes and economic uncertainty."

Indeed..  a STABLE tax policy, free of unfairness, and special favors doled out on the whim of a politician.  Something that will hopefully happen post Granholm.

I heard this outfit is not even a US owned company.  That sure is comforting knowing that the fruits of the labor is being sent overseas.
