    BREAKING: Granholm, Cherry resign

    RightMichigan.com has just learned that Governor Jennifer Granholm and Lieutenant Governor John Cherry, her one-time heir apparent, have resigned to take positions with the Obama administration.

    The resignations are effective at noon today.

    Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land will become acting governor.
