How to Make the Political Elite Really Mad

How do you make the political elite really mad?  It actually is pretty easy.  Some of you have already found out that if you show up to their town hall meetings and ask tough questions, they don't like it much.

You might ask, "Did you read the bill?" or "What example can you give that government does anything well?"

They will fidget, narrow their eyes and point their finger at you. Or as we have seen recently, they may yell a you, take phone calls while you are talking or even have you arrested. Another tactic they have adopted is to call in the SEIU thugs.  They call the citizens who dare to ask questions members of the "mob." Meanwhile, the real mobsters and thugs are brought in to defend their indefensible policies.

    Speaking of the SEIU....

Another way to make them really mad is to hold them accountable to their voting record and endorsements.  Recently New Patriot Revolution had the audacity to inform voters in the 19th Senate District that Mike Nofs has a mixed record on taxes and spending. The voters in the 19th District, and all the Republicans across the State who have been called upon to donate their time, treasure, and talent, deserve to know how Mike Nofs votes.

While I have felt a bit bad about speaking out against him, because Mike is truly a very nice man, his recent endorsements by none other than the MEA and SEIU have sealed the deal for me.  If the Republican elite are comfortable with an SEIU candidate being their "come back kid," then good for them. But to expect us all to line up behind a candidate that is difficult to distinguish from the Democrat in the race is crazy.

Now I know some of you are reading this and shaking your head thinking about political committees, Senate leadership and other issues like that.  But our country is under attack. Most Americans understand and support liberty, hard work and families.  What candidate, if they agree with these, can't stand on them?  But liberty, hard work and families need to have candidates who will stand up against the political elite. To protect these values we need candidates who won't raise taxes and align themselves with unions using thugs to intimidate Americans.

Politicians often feel like they have to tell the people what they think the people want to hear.  We don't want rhetoric, we want truth.  Tell us the truth.  God puts all authority in place and if He wants someone in office, they will be.  If He doesn't, they probably don't want to be there anyway.

It is time to take a stand.  Will you stand for party politics, or will you stand for tea party liberty.  Will you throw off the chains of loyalty to party and take up the cause of liberty?  Please support candidates who espouse your values; but no longer can we afford to support candidates just because they have an (R) after their name.  Meanwhile, we will be be keeping watch and reporting what we find on Make Lansing Listen and New Patriot Revolution.

Here here, Wendy.  SEIU are the thugs beating up taxpayers at townhall meetings.

How long before we see SEIU standing guard outside the White House?

. . . this really torqued me off when I heard about it a few days ago.

Nick, have you a useful response to this?

    Kudos! (none / 0) (#4)

    Great article, Mrs. Day.

From this post, along with several others like it that I reading here and elsewhere, I'm observing two things:

First, I sensing that the Republican Party on the state and partially on a national level has been tone deaf when it comes to the Tea Party Movement. These are grassroots people who are instrumental in any successful campaign. Republicans running for office are more apt to sell their souls (and their principles) in order to garner votes.

Which leads me to number two.

I no longer going to use George Santayana because I don't think that he is resonating very well. So I'll go instead with Aldous Huxley who stated that ,"The most important thing we learn from history is that we never learn from history."

The lessons from 2006 & 2008 apparently have not sunken in yet.

Instead of having two clear and very delineated choices for a particular office, we're back to democrat and democrat-lite as options.

And I'll also echo Kevin's sentiments above. I'm not looking to put anyone one the spot, but I am  also curious as to what Nick has to say about this.
