Macomb County Commissioner Carey Torrice (D) Clinton Township, stated on her "Inside Edition" interview that:

"Bikinis are my favorite thing to wear"

Today, the Detroit Free Press covers local reaction to the nation's hottest elected official.

In that article, one of Torrice's constituents said:

"The pictures are totally inappropriate in the times and crisis we're having right now in the county," resident Bill Susick, 46, said. "Right now I need a representative, not party girl."

...regarding this topic, but it still holds true:

During the Macomb County BoC Meeting last Thursday, this topic was brought up several times by a packed house of county(union) employees who brought up the TMZ appearance, among other "appearances", as an embarassment to the County.
This jezebel didn't even have the common decency to blush when photo copies from the Macomb Daily on the websites were shown to the audience at that meeting.

To top things off, she tried to counter by claiming what a great job she had done as county commissioner...the job that she had done serving her constitutients (when she even bothered to show up) and animal programs.

She also added that the hat worn in one of the photo spreads was the hat worn by her father who served in the military (and I'm sure that her father would've wanted his daughter to look like a hooker when she grew up).

Then her husband stepped up and spewed the same pablum to the audience, they didn't buy it.

My favorite touch by her that evening was having a camera crew from "Inside Edition" videotape portions of the meeting and audience reaction. Jerry Springer couldn't have done a better job, especially since she arrived at the meeting dressed more like a street walker, than a county commissioner.

Commissioner Drolet posts here sometimes, I have a question for him regarding his "esteemed colleague", is there anything in the Macomb County Charter for removing a commissioner for immoral behavior?

    Macomb County has no charter - yet (5.00 / 1) (#3)

There is no provision for removing a commissioner for "immoral behavior". Macomb voters are early in the process of creating a charter.

Despite this lack of a charter prohibition, I have avoided wearing bikinis to County Commission meetings or even posting such photos on my website.

Fox 2 Local News interviewed Commissioner Torrice last week and asked her about the stripper pole that she has in her bedroom (Torrice gave the news crew a tour of her home, including her bedroom). Commissioner Torrice responded that the pole was "strictly for exercise purposes". As opposed to using a stripper pole for intellectual development, I guess.

Explains why I couldn't find it on their website. (none / 0) (#4)

I was under the impression that Macomb County did have a county charter due to comments recently made by certain commissioners about closing down Berry.

    Thanx, for the quick response.

OABTW, did the ever hammer out exactly where the Charter Commissioners will be holding court after November?

I don't recall anyone giving that candidate who spoke regarding that a response towards the end of last Thursday's Meeting.
