Holy Cow! Detroit, Flint among Forbes' "Fastest Dying Cities"By Angry White Male, Section News
Wow, what a powerfully damning appellation - "fastest-dying city." Leaves no room for ambiguity, misplaced BadHowesianism*, mindless boosterism, etc. Gov. BlownAway, Mayor Yaw'sboy and all their cronies and associated political establishments must be cringing. To the extent there is any post-election high in those camps it's lovely to imagine the buzzkill of this.
At least we're not Ohio. Here's how the Freep reported the news: "Detroit and Flint have made Forbes magazine's list of what it calls the nation's 10 fastest-dying cities. Ohio led the way with four -- Youngstown, Dayton, Canton and Cleveland. Also making the list were Charleston, W.Va.; Springfield, Mass.; Scranton, Pa.; and Buffalo, N.Y. Buffalo was the only city in New York to make the list. The cities were listed alphabetically, not ranked." * BadHowesianism: The quality displayed by the otherwise excellent Detroit News business columnist Daniel Howes when he allows himself to be schmoozed by central-planning, rent-seeking corporate and "economic development" charlatans into characterizing heavily-subsidized downtown Detroit projects as "evidence that the turnaround is upon us." GoodHowesianism is when Howes accurately describes the city's and state's monumentally destructive business climates and dysfunctional political establishments.
