Too long for the comments field, so I figured I would post...

My definition of a "pro worker" is someone who sees that person as a capable entity who can decide to work and negotiate a salary based on ability or inability to (in this case ) teach.

    ALSO...

A "Pro-Worker" philosophy is one that sees opportunity for all workers and trusts their ability to participate in the manner they have adequate training for.

A "Pro-Worker" mindset is one that relieves the employer of UNNECESSARY burdens so they can afford to pay the maximum possible wage to those who deserve it.

A "Pro-Worker" Stance is one that looks at those who represent the worker, and if the representation is weak, immoral, destructive to the job, then encourages the removal of said representation.

A "Pro-Worker" solution is to limit interference with the worker's ability to get a job when he/she is much better suited for it than perhaps an existing one.

A "Pro-Worker wants MORE Jobs created so that both government AND private enterprise has to compete for any and all available bodies.

OBAMA is NOT "pro-Worker" contrary to how those on the left wish to frame the argument.  He wishes to add further burdens to companies which provide the EMPLOYMENT for workers, and wishes to MANDATE health insurance (whether you can afford it or not) by establishing penalties for failure to do so.  He supports existing moratoriums on drilling which would solve the gasoline price crisis overnight, further hurting more workers ability to put food on their table.

Listen, you can say it, preach it, continue to lie about it and perhaps even believe it, but being pro-worker is much more than saying that you want to "level" the playing field in oh-so-many nice words.  Frankly, when did the Liberal left begin to be "pro" anything for that matter?

Anti Life - Abort me, I'm about to be born...
Anti growth - Michigan Business tax
Anti Business - Teamsters and recent events
Anti Opportunity - Union supported closed shops
Anti Security - Foriegn nat Wire taps
Anti Freedom - Excessive GREEN, govt regs, DEQ
    Anti Private property - Kelo
Anti Free Speech - fairness doctrine

    the list goes on...  yeesh

the idea of returning to the day when unions didn't exist and business could exploit and abuse workers as they did. Thee people who worked under that system weren't very fond of it. That's why they organized unions and went on strike even when the bosses used violence including murder to break the strikes. But keep selling it to workers that they deserve to be exploited. I'm sure that will be a winning message for the Republicons in 2008.

American history has shown us that some business people, if allowed to, will abuse and exploit workers including:

    • Endangering the safety and lives of their workers
    • Using child labor
    • Engaging in racial and gender discrimination
    • Excluding people based on their race, sex, age, etc.
    • Ignore or break their contractual obligations to their workers
    • Poison the environment including the water we drink and the air we breath

The world you want isn't the world that most workers want. That's why they don't buy into your phony view of how employers act. They deal with the reality of how they act.
