For Those Who Have Ears to Hear: MI's Unborn African-American Babies Cry-Out for JusticeBy Andrew Shirvell, Section News
Last Sunday, April 27, 2008, the Detroit branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) held its annual fundraising dinner, which attracted close to 10,000 people and garnered national attention because Illinois Senator Barack Obama's infamous former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, headlined the event.
But what did not garner any media attention - local or otherwise - was a small protest held outside the dinner led by Dr. Levon Yuille, the director of the National Black Pro-Life Congress who is also the pastor of The Bible Church in Ypsilanti. This was the fourth year in a row that Pastor Yuille and his band of faithful warriors protested the event because, in the words of Pastor Yuille in an e-mail to pro-life supporters, the NAACP "must hear the babies cry." Indeed. Pastor Yuille is the exception to the rule when it comes to Michigan's African-American leaders and abortion. Whereas Pastor Yuille and his church have been outspoken warriors for the pro-life cause for years, one would be hard-pressed to find any other ministers and congregations in Michigan's African-American community that take such a vocal and unequivocal position in support of the unborn. The same remains true of the relatively few African-American political leaders there are in Michigan. In fact, one of the most notorious pro-abortion political leaders in Michigan - state Rep. Alma Wheeler Smith (D-54th District) - is African-American. Rep. Wheeler Smith, who, back in 2002, had hoped to become Michigan's first African-American governor, has never failed to remind voters during her various political campaigns that her father, Al Wheeler, served as the first and only African-American mayor of Ann Arbor back in the 1970s. Meantime, Rep. Wheeler Smith has long held a position on the board of the organization responsible for killing more African Americans than any other in American history, Planned Parenthood. (Specifically, Wheeler Smith is a board member of Planned Parenthood of Mid and South Michigan - the largest provider of abortions in Michigan). Read on. . .
Of course, Wheeler Smith does not believe that Planned Parenthood is committing genocide against the African-American community because, to her, unborn black children are not people - they're blobs of tissue (that happen to have their own heartbeats and brain cells) and, therefore, can and should be disposed of for any reason at all - or for no reason at all.
Wheeler Smith is so blinded by her love for abortion "rights" that she willingly sits on the board of an organization that was founded by a rabid white supremacist (Margaret Sanger) whose intention was to outright exterminate non-whites as well as the handicapped and other so-called undesirables. Thanks to some recent "sting operations" conducted by pro-life groups around the country, Planned Parenthood officials have been caught red-handed accepting donations for the explicit purpose of aborting black children because "there are too many" of them. See: http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=26220 Recently, African-American pro-life leaders rallied in Washington, D.C. to condemn this latest evidence of Planned Parenthood's racist agenda, and, in particular, to demand that taxpayer money stop funding the organization - a money-making murderous machine, which is supposedly a "non-profit" entity, yet continues to turn record profits year after year. You can view a YouTube video of the rally here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1jWguXjubo&eurl However, African-American pro-life warriors, like Michigan's Pastor Levon Yuille, never headline NAACP dinners, such as the massive one held in Detroit last Sunday. Instead, the Rev. Wrights of the hour seem to always take center stage and do so by purposely - and conveniently - ignoring the greatest threat to the long-term growth of the African-American community, the explicit targeting of black babies for destruction in the womb. Why, I must ask, do the Rev. Wrights of the hour feel the need to dream-up elaborate, but false, government conspiracy theories against the African-American community, e.g. the government purposely developed AIDS to kill blacks, the government ships drugs into the inner-cities just so it can lock-up blacks in prison for years? There is no need for made-up ruses when there is real, hard evidence that the agenda of a government-supported organization (Planned Parenthood) is carrying-out an explicitly racist agenda by targeting unborn black babies for abortion simply because they are black. But, similar to pro-abortion Rep. Alma Wheeler Smith, who cares more for her high-powered Ann Arbor wine-and-cheese fundraisers than the plight of everyday African Americans, the Rev. Wrights of the hour care more about themselves than preaching the truth about the real government-sponsored threat to the long-term survival of the African-American community - abortion on demand. If only the leadership of the NAACP and the Rev. Wrights of the hour truly listened to the cry of the unborn babies. . . "If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear." Mark 7:16.
