We Are Our Own Worst Enemy In Black AmeriKKKa by Akindele Akinyemi

Uncut and raw information pertaining to the conditions of folks living in Detroit.

I was listening to Joshua's Trail with Rev. Levon Yuille this morning on WDTK 1400 AM and there was a guy talking about how the Republican Party has committed all kinds of atrocities against Black people. While Rev. Yuille and co-host Ron Edwards attempted to educate the guy this man went on to say that Ronald Reagan did more harm to Blacks than help us.

My concern about our people is simply this...we are always seeking the government to bail us out. So here is what I am going to do. I will post the first ten amendments of the Constitution of the United States and we will see if government is supposed to help Black people.

First Amendment: addresses the rights of freedom of religion (prohibiting Congressional establishment of a religion over another religion through Law and protecting the right to free exercise of religion), freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and freedom of petition.

Second Amendment: declares "a well regulated militia" as "necessary to the security of a free State", and as explanation for prohibiting infringement of "the right of the People to keep and bear arms."

Third Amendment: prohibits the government from using private homes as quarters for soldiers without the consent of the owners.

Fourth Amendment: guards against searches, arrests, and seizures of property without a specific warrant or a "probable cause" to believe a crime has been committed. Some rights to privacy have been inferred from this amendment and others by the Supreme Court.

Fifth Amendment: forbids trial for a major crime except after indictment by a grand jury; prohibits double jeopardy (repeated trials), except in certain very limited circumstances; forbids punishment without due process of law; and provides that an accused person may not be compelled to testify against themself (this is also known as "Taking the Fifth" or "Pleading the Fifth"). This is regarded as the "rights of the accused" amendment. It also prohibits government from taking private property without "just compensation," the basis of eminent domain in the United States.

Sixth Amendment: guarantees a speedy public trial for criminal offenses. It requires trial by a jury, guarantees the right to legal counsel for the accused, and guarantees that the accused may require witnesses to attend the trial and testify in the presence of the accused. It also guarantees the accused a right to know the charges against him. In 1966, the Supreme Court ruled that the fifth amendment prohibition on forced self-incrimination and the sixth amendment clause on right to counsel were to be made known to all persons placed under arrest, and these clauses have become known as the Miranda rights.

Seventh Amendment: assures trial by jury in civil cases.

Eighth Amendment: forbids excessive bail or fines, and cruel and unusual punishment.

Ninth Amendment: declares that the listing of individual rights in the Constitution and Bill of Rights is not meant to be comprehensive; and that the other rights not specifically mentioned are retained elsewhere by the people.

Tenth Amendment: provides that powers that the Constitution does not delegate to the United States and does not prohibit the states from exercising, are "reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

It does not say anything about government is supposed to help Black people in this constitution. If anything that is pertaining to Blacks its the 13th-15th amendments. These were amendments that Republicans supported.

Thirteenth Amendment (1865): Abolishes slavery and grants Congress power to enforce abolition.

Fourteenth Amendment (1868): Defines a set of guarantees for United States citizenship; prohibits states from abridging citizens' privileges or immunities and rights to due process and the equal protection of the law; repeals the Three-fifths compromise; prohibits repudiation of the federal debt caused by the Civil War.

Fifteenth Amendment (1870): Forbids the federal government and the states from using a citizen's race, color, or previous status as a slave as a qualification for voting.

There is nothing in the Michigan Constitution that states that government is supposed to take care of Black people. So I do not understand why that caller would lie on the radio and state that Republicans have made Blacks more miserable when that is not the case. There has never been anything in constitutional law that stated government was supposed to take care of us. There is no Universal Health Care or ANY health care mentioned in the United State or Michigan Constitution. Education is NOT mentioned in the U.S. Constitution (like No Child Left Behind or Teacher Certification). So why are Blacks so ignorant to the basic laws of this state and country?

Because we are our own worst enemy. This is a fact.

Blacks put themselves in this position by accepting social welfare instead of personal responsibility. We are our own worst enemy when it comes to economics. We want to support Black owned businesses but we cannot because the Black owned business do not open up on time or close early before we can get to the store. The Wendy's or McDonald's bathrooms in a Black owned establishment is filthy most of the times. I want to support Black owned businesses but how when we create an atmosphere that is not Godly?

We are our own worst enemy when it comes to voting. Sen. Barack Obama could have won the primary in both Ohio and Texas but guess what? Blacks were not registered to vote or did not have the right precinct information in front of them to vote. Then we want to blame it on the voting machines. The voting machines were fine. Our poor judgement was not and cost Obama the election.

Speaking of Obama, Blacks are going to be the death of his candidacy for President. Rev. Jeremiah Wright of the Trinity United Church of Christ has said some very ignorant statements on the conditions of Black America. These statements are so extreme that it has hurt Obama's chances for getting the nomination. He will not win Pennsylvania and he will lose out in Denver to the superdelegates. Blacks will say its racism, however, the truth is Rev. Wright demolished his chances for being President. Obama has made it even worse when he got on TV and said I was not made aware about these types of statements in his church. Now he has lost credibility to become the next Commander in Chief of the last world superpower. You just handed the nomination on a platter to Hilary Clinton. Whose to blame? Us.

We are our own worst enemy when it comes to improving the conditions in Detroit. There is not one Republican in sight of here and Blacks still complain about how government should take care of us. This is a slave mentality that has been going on for over 400 years. We want the plantation to take care of us. The Democrats controlled the plantation 400 years ago and they control the plantation today here in Detroit. The slave masters who were Democrats did not want Blacks to learn how to read during slavery and the Democrats in Detroit STILL do not want us to learn how to read today. If that was the case then Blacks would be able to see through the fallacies of failed policies that continue to keep us trapped. Today, we are so lazy to even find the facts we sit and say things like "Democrats and Republicans are the same to me. I don't care." How can you intelligently say this when most Blacks do not have a clue about the Republican Party to begin with? We are our own worst enemy.

What Democratic elected leader in the City of Detroit has discussed rebuilding families in our city? Mayor Kilpatrick did not mention it in his recent State of the City Address but told people how his family was "threatened." I guarantee you this..his family was not threatened by White folks but by Black folks. Yes, we are our own worst enemy.

Speaking of families I just left the DADS and MOMS of Michigan gala at the Westin Hotel in Southfield. The room was predominately White and while organizations like the Family Rights Coalition of Michigan were present I find it interesting that Whites are more into rebuilding the family more than Blacks when it comes to the inner city. You would think after 400 years of enslavement that Blacks would join in with these organizations (or at the bare minimum utilize it to construct family centered polices) to help fight for equal parenting and reforming the Friends of Court. You would think that fatherhood would be at the top of the Black community's wish list but it's not. Every lawmaker from Detroit should have been at this event. But we are still fighting over insurance and how we can increase funding for failing schools. Both could be avoided if we, as Blacks, would take on personal responsibility for both insurance (by not carjacking or stealing cars to make the rates go up in Detroit) or failing schools (by participating in our children's education by learning how to read and write ourselves as parents).

We are our own worst enemy because we, as Blacks, like to point fingers and blame others for OUR problems. We blame Republicans, the lynch mob media (whatever that is), M.L. Elrick from the Detroit Free Press, President Bush, anything that we can make an excuse for in our community. The demise of Detroit has nothing to do with White people raping this city. This has something to do with us raping our city as if we have lost our minds. The Republican Party is not making Blacks kill Blacks, we are killing each other. The Republicans are not making Blacks not go to school. We choose not to go to school to be educated. Therefore, it is harder for us to find a job because we lack the skills necessary to compete for jobs.

Republicans have not created a high level of immorality in our churches in Detroit. Most of these preachers endorse foolishness in the city. They would rather preach about saving the Mayor and turning their pulpit into a political joy ride instead of focusing on Christ. I refuse to go into a Black Church that is talking politics all the time or have a version of Rev. Jeremiah Wright's church in Chicago. I am seeking the experience of God not seeking political office. Remember 90% of Blacks are caught up on a emotional high in church while 10% believe that the Bible is the moral truth. Again, we are our own worst enemy when it comes to spirituality because 90% of us do not practice it. No wonder 80% of households in Detroit are headed by a single mother. No one here is married and barely dating. That's not the Ronald Reagan or George Bush's fault. Blame that on those Democrats in the City of Detroit who support Black Power.

Unemployment is high in Detroit because Blacks do not hire Blacks to work for Black companies. If we do hire our people we are always making excuses on why we cannot get paid on time or why your hours were cut short. It's always something. You never hear about the Jews not hiring each other or Asians not hiring each other. We do not hire each other and when we do it's normally in the form of a government job where you have to get on the family and friends plan.

So I am not trying to hear about how the White man screwed up Detroit. In fact, Detroit was better off when it was dominated by White folks. Neighborhoods were clean, schools actually worked, crime was down (except STRESS and other racially motivated garbage), people actually had self pride and respect of their fellow man. Even Blacks had a sense of togetherness and family. Detroit was the place to be at one point. Today, ever since Blacks have taken control of the city it has gone straight to hell. Not just Detroit but every single urban area in Michigan has gone into the abyss. We have successfully turned Detroit into Black AmeriKKKa. You are aware that the KKK was founded by Democrats in 1866. Today, the KKK are those in Detroit leadership that continues to oppress our people by raising our taxes, failed public schools that are plagued by drug gangs and gay/lesbian rape gangs, the lack of public safety and the lack of family life. Now, non-profit organizations cannot receive city block grants unless they live in the City of Detroit. You are forced to live in a city that do not promote any family values. That is sad.

Speaking of family life we are our own worst enemy when it comes to relationship building because Black men and women do not trust each other at all. Women come on TV lying about they are looking for a good Black man when that is not the case. Proof of this is just reading the very Bible they chose to follow:

    Ephesians 5:22-28

22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.

24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her

26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,

27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

Instead, we fight among each other and damage and scar our children for life because we are too immature as adults to cure the hatred that we have among each other in a relationship. Then we hide behind the Bible and say how Jesus is "my man" when Paul taught the following:

Now, for those who are married I have a command, not just a suggestion. And it is not a command from me, for this is what the Lord himself has said: A wife must not leave her husband. But if she is separated from him, let her remain single or else go back to him. And the husband must not divorce his wife. (1 Corinthians 7:10-11)

The problem with our people when it comes to relationships is the fact that God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. It is composed of persons related to one another by marriage, blood, or adoption. Furthermore, marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God's unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards, and the means for procreation of the human race.

The husband and wife are of equal worth before God, since both are created in God's image. The marriage relationship models the way God relates to His people. A husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church. He has the God-given responsibility to provide for, to protect, and to lead his family. A wife is to submit herself graciously to the servant leadership of her husband even as the church willingly submits to the headship of Christ. She, being in the image of God as is her husband and thus equal to him, has the God-given responsibility to respect her husband and to serve as his helper in managing the household and nurturing the next generation.

Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Parents are to demonstrate to their children God's pattern for marriage. Parents are to teach their children spiritual and moral values and to lead them, through consistent lifestyle example and loving discipline, to make choices based on biblical truth. Children are to honor and obey their parents.

You see, at one point, we actually FOLLOWED this when most Blacks followed true Republican principles and values. Since welfare and feminism entered our lives the Black family has been decimated. Who is to blame for this? Us. If women understood their roles in relationships and the men would take control of the home by maintaining balance as well as not allowing their women to run over us we would have a stronger community. Case in point if you look at this YouTube video at http://youtube.com/watch?v=Z3WBeXBjjZA you will see how Mayor Kilpatrick called out Detroit City Council President Ken Cockrel in public. But focus on how Ken Cockrel's wife sitting next to him is agreeing with the Mayor!!!! Had she understood her role as a true wife she would have never agreed with the Mayor and at the bare minimum she would have not shook her head in agreement.

Blacks are going to have to make a decision if we want to get off the plantation. Otherwise, we will remain to be our own worst enemy in our decision making
