    (Promoted by Nick...)

The panic factor is starting to invade the state's workforce, and I would just like to encourage everyone - including citizen's - to stand strong.  It is likely that the lights will be shut off in Lansing tomorrow (for some, and Monday for everyone else).  This essentially means, you have no job, no paycheck, no unemployment, etc.

Is it going to get tough?  You betcha!

Most of us don't have the luxury of the recommended 6 months of expenses in our savings account - especially those of us who just went through some major house updates.

But, please do not waiver.  Do not be frightened.  Things have a way of working themselves out.  If we can hold steady, and continue to send the message to Lansing that tax hikes are not necessary in order to balance the budget, we will see the fruits of our labor down the road.

Michigan citizens cannot afford increased taxes.  Aunt Jenny, and the democrats are looking in the wrong place - when you find that you cannot make your bills, the first thing you do is find where you can cut some fat.  Unfortunately, the blinders are on in full force on the democrats, and they only see huge revenue increases as the solution.

The Media Spin is in full force - Lansing is trying desperately to mobilize its' following by having them organize rally's.  Rally's that look innocent enough on the outside, but dig a little deeper, and you will see just how self serving they really are.

Our do-nothing unions are trying to get a rally going for Friday - many times over the years, they say "We will stand by state employees" only to have them roll over so Jenny can scratch their belly's.  It is contractual to have NO LAYOFFS, and yet, the only thing they do is organize a get together - which will no doubt be aimed and spun towards the Republicans of the House.  Plus, it seems kind of funny that they are spending their time "rallying" when they should be in full force talking with Civil Service, you know?

If Jennifer is so concerned about the state budget, then why is the State Police Building - at a cost of $117 MILLION dollars still going forward?  The tax increases they so desperately want are going to fund (a replacement for a) building that currently costs $1, yes ONE DOLLAR in lease.  For the cost of the new building, you would think that its going to be training new recruits, but in actuality it is for the senior brass.

One of the state income tax proposals also includes a percentage to go to conservation - CONSERVATION does not need an increase in funding, they ARE SELF CONTAINED!

There are many truths about the budget that aren't known to most - it goes much deeper than you might think.

Stay strong, we will get through this.

Our only hope right now is to call their bluff - they want to shut down, then fine.  Let's limit the income they get while shut down.  Don't let them smell fear - they thrive on the stuff.

    Shut her down (none / 0) (#1)

Close the doors for business. Let's see what the Governess does then, outside of blaming Engler and everone else. Perhaps the Governess should consider, when she points that one crooked finger at everyone else, the others in her hand point right back at her. Stand strong. SAY NO TO TAX INCREASES AND YES TO FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

Cut off utilities to the Gov's mansion.  Take the keys to her car, and ban any travel that is paid by the State.  Turn off the utilities to the State Capitol building as well.

When Jen runs out of clean undies, and hasn't had a shower in 3-4 days, then she'll reconsider having the citizen sleeping on the collective marital couch (married people understand this reference).  When the toilets can't be flushed in the Capitol, the Legislature will begin to see the light (even it they see it by flashlight).

this is DeVos's fault for having a plant in China.  And it's Engler's fault, because he's a Republican.

And it's George W. Bush's fault for single-handedly and personally outsourcing Michigan jobs.

See, if these people hadn't interfered, Two-Penny Jenny would just obviously be the greatest leader the state ever had, right?

I agree with a previous comment.  Shut off utilities... but I'm sure she'll run home to Northville and run operations from there.  My biggest hope is that she, like the state employees, doesn't get paid for the time the Government is shutdown.
