Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

Actions have consequences, unless you're a liberal on campus

You know you've got yourself one sad state of affairs when the Detroit Public Schools handle something... anything... better than you.  And that's just the situation the crackpots running Central Michigan University find themselves in this morning.

In case you missed it these past couple days, Dennis Lennox, a CMU student and political activist has been following the money where it comes to Gary Peters, candidate for the 9th Congressional District in Oakland County and a full-time CMU professor, 200 some odd miles away.

Lennox contends, correctly, that it's a physical impossibility for Peters to run full-time and full-effort in the 9th while meeting his obligations in Mount Pleasant.  After all, the man doesn't own a private jet or have the mutant power to instantly teleport over great distances.

Apparently the activist finally got under someone's skin.  When he presented Dean Pamela Gates with a Freedom of Information Act request regarding certain emails she responded with this:

She assaulted him.  On camera.  Um... oops?

The response out of Central Michigan University to this point has been a mixed bag.  You either get crickets chirping or you get folks demonizing Dennis Lennox for being dogged in his pursuit of the truth, which, by the way, isn't a crime.

    Read on...

Now pretend you DO have those mutant teleportation powers and lets phase out of Mt. Pleasant and back in in the Motor City.  The Detroit News reports:

The Detroit Public Schools Board of Education is investigating whether to take any action against board member Marie Thornton after an alleged confrontation with a Detroit minister last month.

Thornton, 55, was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery and disorderly conduct in an alleged assault of the Rev. Loyce Lester, 60, of Detroit as he was leaving a school board meeting on Sept. 13, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy said Tuesday.

Thornton, who is seeking a personal protection order against Lester, said he shoved her and cursed at her, causing her to defend herself.

As the board delves into the incident, it could consider censure, sanctions or even ouster from the board.

I'd highly recommend a read of the complete column.  DPS officials are not taking this lightly despite the fact that the minister in question has a history of course behavior himself.  Far worse than simply following congressional candidates to ask questions and serving FOIA requests.

But according to DPS that's beside the point.  One of their own assaulted another human being and that cannot be tolerated.  Even if charges aren't pressed, even if the Prosecutor declines to pursue them, even if she's acquitted or pleads out and pays a fine, and those are all BIG ifs at this point, is her reaction to Lennox befitting a Dean at a major University?

Hardly.  So why does Pamela Gates still have her job?

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.  They teach that in school, at least they did when I was taking classes.  Suppose we'll have to see if the far-left intelligentsia in their academic ivory towers find themselves a tidy end run around personal responsibility.

And if they do, I know a handful of state Legislators who'd love to pick their brains for advice.  The Free Press reports:

Recall petitions were filed in Muskegon and Detroit today against three more state lawmakers, bringing to six the number of legislators facing potential job loss for voting to raise taxes.

The latest targets are state Reps. Ed Gaffney, R-Grosse Pointe Farms, and Mary Valentine, D-Muskegon and state Sen. Gerald Van Woerkom, Muskegon, said Leon Drolet, director of the anti-tax group Michigan Taxpayers Alliance.

And, if nothing else, an affirmative vote on the Democrat's nation's-biggest tax-hike has already cost one Representative his leadership post.  We discussed yesterday that the House Minority Floor Leader has stepped down and expects himself to be the subject of a recall soon.

According to the Associated Press, a new number two in the caucus will be selected soon:

State House Republicans expect to pick a new second-in-command for their caucus later this week.

The GOP will vote on a new floor leader to replace Rep. Chris Ward of Brighton on Thursday.

Our actions have consequences.  Assault a minister, possibly face charges, censure or removal from your job.  Raise taxes, kill jobs and force job-makers, moms and dads to leave the state.  Vote to raise taxes, face a recall.  Assault a student for having the audacity to ask questions...

Well, most of our actions have consequences.

Oops. Sorry, no assault took place no mater how hard you try and spin it that way. I'm still waiting for the rest of the tape, but I know I will wait forever.

    Typical Liberal Response (none / 0) (#3)

For neo-communist liberals, it is okay to physically assault and batter a person who holds different political beliefs.  For example, Joseph Stalin executed tens of millions of people who did not share sufficient enthusiasm for the collective society.  Likewise, if the neo-communist liberals in the Soviet Socialist Republic of Michigan could get away with it, they too would execute as many individuals as possible who stand in their way of furthering their socialist agenda.
