A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

Is MI GOP Gubernatorial candidate Rick Snyder a pro-abort?

Conservative principles are simple - limited government, low taxes, personal freedom and liberty. The latter is not possible without your life. Our Founding Fathers, in their wisdom, listed life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as our unalienable rights in the Declaration of Independence. It is interesting that the list is in the exact order it should be in since you cannot pursue happiness without liberty, and surely can't have liberty without life. Liberals have turned that on its head by stealing our liberty piece by piece by way of an ever-expanding government that is on an unending campaign to put every citizen under its thumb through government dependency. Even worst, the first unalienable right - life - is no more. At least not for babies. Or the infirm. Or seniors. But every bleeding-hearted liberal is against capital punishment for murderers. Be that as it may, conservative principles have been the mainstay of the Republican party. That is, until 'moderates' came onto the scene. These are people that call themselves Republicans, but don't stand on conservative principles. It is hard in fact to figure out what foundation they do stand on.

Thus enter Rick Snyder, one of several GOP gubernatorial candidates this year. I have at least met most of the other candidates with the exception of Snyder. A year ago, I couldn't have told you who the man was, but he has launched a campaign that included a SuperBowl campaign ad. The theme? Michigan needs a nerd:

The fact that he didn't identify himself as a Republican in the ad was a bit bothersome. So I had to ask - what does a nerd believe?

      The scientific argument against abortion

This is the third post in a series focusing on the issue of pro-life leading up to the critical 2010 elections, which will be a turning point for Michigan and the nation. Life is constantly under attack. Not only the unborn, but also our seniors. We must arm ourselves with knowledge, and fight such devaluing as it affects us all as a society.

Last week, I covered the moral pro-life argument against the murder of the innocent. In formulating the argument, I mentioned that we all live within the framework of certain laws. These are universal laws that were imposed by The Creator over which we have no control. There are several levels of natural laws, which in my estimation are as follows in order:

      1. Laws of logic
      2. Laws of mathematics
      3. Laws of science
      4. Moral Laws
Since we covered the 4th last week, I will focus on the third in this post - laws of science. Let me ask a question: if someone in the middle of the night committed the theft of one of your kidneys, and was caught the next day with a tub full of kidneys, how would you prove that one of those was yours? Of course you could prove it conclusively with what is today a simple dna test. Your kidney, and in fact every cell in your body, is governed by a dna molecule that is uniquely your own. Before you existed, that dna strand never existed before, and once you're gone, it will never exist again.

      Another doozie from Detroit

And we wonder why the city of Detroit particularly the Detroit Public School System is in such a crisis?  There are private businesses  paying taxes they are not legally supposed to, and the tax money that should be in their pocket is being given to the DPS. This is especially alarming since the DPS is barely operating as it is and they are doing it with money they are NOT supposed to have. What a sloppy mess!
