I agree with you on the fact that most of it is one huge lie.
The roads? I've talked about that topic enough already, along with how they can be paid for (like, now).
The pensions? Yes, it's a problem. But it's not all due at once. So there is some time to fix that as well.
City/village/school defaults? I've got front-row seats for a number of them already. It should also be pointed out that most of the those are self-inflicted.
Want to make a bet on how quickly the state will act against those responsible?
I'm not going to waste yours, or anyone else's time on that one, because I'll tell you for a fact that the state will not act.
Not only does the AG lack the backbone, but one of the inherent roles of government I've observed is that one part of gov't always looks out for another, covering for their screw-ups.
Speaking of lacking backbone, it should also be pointed out that prioritizing spending what money it does spend is also a problem at the state level.
Ask our (mostly) non-representatives if everything that they are paying for is really authorized by the Michigan Constitution.
Address the above, and you will really see a budget surplus.
