Given that all other strategies (including using the "straw boogeyman" attack against my employer) have failed miserably, he is now resorting to sowing bogus division in a quite natural alliance that has specifically targeted his ouster at the tail end of this week.  My guess is that he's praying that the Ron Paul supporters (who will be in attendance in force) will forget all about this particular insult, and that includes the Ron Paul supporters who otherwise have an issue with his policy positions.
