      of stable families is also a factor.  With a majority of illiterate and single mother welfare population, these urban hell holes are not going anywhere - profit or no profit.  When 80% of your population is on or being subsidized by federal, state and local taxes where is the profit going to come from?  It takes generations to build a good community foundation.  It will take 30-40 years to turn around Detroit and I am not willing to sink 30-40 more years of taxes and subsidies into a city that REFUSES to acknowledge what the problem is.
