    Anger? (none / 0) (#26)
by Corinthian Scales on Thu Aug 05, 2010 at 09:48:53 PM EST
Nope.  Just calling you out for what you are.  Okay, let's go line by line here seeing that I'm dealing with a self proclaimed centrist democrat and everyone knows that dealing with a democrat is like trying to hang onto a greased pig.

Your anger and where you sit on the political spectrum simply aren't sustainable on a national level--save in small pockets of anomalies. Independent voters--who decide every election, simply won't buy into it.

Well, if you haven't noticed the wee pockets of your "anomalies"  asserveration, such as myself, is ever growing.  Even the 'Tingle up the thigh' is wearing off.  And yes, Independents are swing voters.  Perhaps if both Party's hadn't blurred their identities into being an amalgamation of career office holders you wouldn't see such notable noble Independents like Joe Lieberman.  That's ultimately what they're buying into and speaking for myself, they can have him.

Today's left is tomorrow's conservative center. Historically this has been proven time and time again. And has been proven and re-proven since the birth of this nation.

Nope.  Today's Left is Arlen Specter, a self-serving career politician that whored himself out to the Dimocrat Party agenda.  I say its good riddance from the GOP.  Arlen is just another on the long list of assclowns in the GOP carrying the R while behaving like a Libtard that needs to be booted from the "tent".  Now, tomorrow's Left?  It's in the image of Hugo Chavez.  That brings me to your next statement.

The left hasn't gotten more left (I hardly think Clinton was more left of FDR and LBJ, for example). The Right has realigned its center in response to the constant leftward trek of the country since its inception.

BJ Clinton was exactly like FDR and LBJ.  How in the hell do you think BJ ended up with a Republican controlled House in '94?  Remember, Dimocrats controlled the House since 1964 prior to that... <cough>a failed Hillarycare<cough>  Hello?!?!  Yes, that's right, much to your chagrin, America's first Black president was forced to govern from the center.  Honestly, your Jug Hussein Ears in the Oval Office is a gift.  He is thee poster child for the American pendulum that is swinging back to the Right.  Don't think so?  Explain other Dimocrats seeking office running from him like the plague.

A classic example is social security. At its birth during the FDR era, conservatives--all of them--howled like rabied wolves. Now? There isn't a conservative who will publicly say "do away with social security" if he or she has any hope of winning an election (the only thing debated is how to fund it). Privately-funded think tanks might talk about privitizing it or doing away it altogether...but no one who aspires to public office beyond local drain commissioner will say it. It ain't happening--thus, the conservative center has been coopted and has been forced (yet again) to move along the road to the left.

Social Security?  For chrissake.  Well now, perhaps if Dimocrats hadn't manipulated that into a bait pile for anchor babies and everything else under the sun that never paid into it as a tool to buy votes <cough>amnesty<cough> the discussion of funding it wouldn't even exist.  I'll agree with you on this, the Looter electorate (think ACORN) sure has figured out how to vote into office their own entitlements.  I also agree that anyone going against the Looters has an uphill battle, but, with it now being only 47% of working Americans paying for all the entitlement mooches, that battle will get much easier.

The rallying cry against Obama's health care by the teaparty? "Keep your hands off my medicare"--an angry rebuke of proposed CUTS in medicare (which, if you think about it, those conservatives should have been applauding: the CUTTING of a socialist program). I saw all the stalwarts of conservatism on Fox DEFEND that mantra ("Keep your hands off my medicare"). Even Palin. You don't see any white flag, any bitter irony in any of that?! Hello!

"Even Palin"... God I love that woman.  She still possesses the power that twists every Lefty's melon driving them all batsh!t-nuts-crazy.   BWAAHAHAHAHA.  Look, there is no "bitter irony" there.  The Left thew the geezers under the bus to get ObaMaocare pushed through.  Being that geezers are the largest voting block and Dimocrats took monies away from them to pay for their socialist utopia, I have to ask... does yah really think that was wise?  Bitter irony?  Hello!

As I don't want this to escalate into an unpleasant conversation, I'll leave it at that. I've had my say here. Best of luck moving forward.

Unpleasantness?  Nah, that'd just end up counterproductive.  That said, I believe in responding to a misplaced response to me... I've taken the time in handling this with Kid gloves.

    But never forget to remember
those that have stuck by you.
