      I've done my fair share of Bart bashing over the past couple of years.  I have to say too that I'm not sorry to see him go.  I'm sure he is a fine family man and a guy who will make a good living either suing the crap out of employers in his home district or lobbying for those same businesses in either Lansing or Washington...whichever pays more.

      That aside, I think Bart is doing the right thing by resigning at this point in his career.  He has been in the Congress for eighteen years and it is time for him to move on regardless of whatever the stances in his storied political career might have been.  

      Eighteen years is a long time to represent the people in one job.  I wish that people like John Dingell, John Conyers, John McCain, Robert Byrd, Arlen Specter, and anyone with the last name of Levin would follow Bart's example.
