blitzkreig, if you prefer.
This is the proper way to look at political campaigns, and I agree with you that more operatives need to understand that...
Your direct mail, radio and tv (artillery, air strikes) only supplement the poor grunts (door to door, candidate events, etc)and the whole thing needs to be integrated. There is too much emphasis on one or other aspect.
Oh yeah, and we can fit logistics and everything else in there.
I'm intrigued by the notion of a "Delta Force" or "NAVDEVGRP" for political campaigns, and agree entirely. And am ready to sign up.
At the risk of giving myself away to certain people that read this, I've been an advocate of getting our activists, staffers, etc. so fired up that they are ready to jump out of a C-130 at 30k feet with just a bowie knife in their mouths.
That's the sort of intensity we need to turn this party around.
Oh yeah, and we need some SF to train our local "indigenous" activists how to organize and fight with us.
And, though it's all the rage at DOD right now and a little too trendy, I think a counterinsurgency plan adapted for politics would be a good idea. We have to get several areas of this state to trust us again if we want to succeed.
