      I tried to maintain a 'cone of silence' today because I couldn't handle all the fawning hype. But, I was in my car around 12:00 and listened to the first 30 seconds of 'The One' giving his address. I was in shock and turned the radio off after his 'we are polluting the world' comment.

      To make matters worse, I stopped into a coffee shop and there were two college age girls watching 'The One' and they asked me if I was excited about the 'historic moment'. I grumbled and replied with something along the lines of ' I'm hoping for little change'.. As I was leaving, I heard one of the girls say 'well, its better than looking at some old white guy'

      It's been a tough day.
